I am trying to determine if you can lower the City Cross foot pegs (more leg room) by installing the unique foot peg holders on a Ulysses on a City Cross. These Brackets are very expensive ($150 each) and do not want to order them if it will not work. Has anyone else tried this on a XB9/12 frame? |

I was considering doing the same thing, and using the Uly peg assembly on longer rides then swapping back to my stock pegs for shorter/sportier riding. I haven't gotten any feedback on whether or not the Uly rearsets will clear the older syle swingarm or not. I'm like you and don't want to spend a bunch of cash on parts I can't use. I'll be watching closely for any feedback on this. |

I was getting ready to post essentially the same message as City_x_boy. Fortunately, I checked the KV Chassis section first. My eyeballing tells me that they do interchange but it's not $300 reliable. So far I've only seen one thing that might take some serious modification/adjusted. It is the wiring and brake line to the rear brake pedal. Of course the shifter would have to be adjusted but that would be a small project. I hope Al sees this because he seems to be into the ergonomics thing as well. |

I haven't tried that swap. The bolt holes are the same. The footpeg brackets on a lightning and lightning long are the same. The frame on the Lightning long and Uly are the same in that location. So, it stands to reason that the parts would bolt up at that interface. But the pulley covers are different. I just found that out when I tooled the Uly pulley cover and found it won't fit the Lightning or firebolts. You have to use the Uly pulley cover with the Uly footpeg bracket. The Uly uses a bracket that offsets the entire shifter lower. It MIGHT be possible to NOT use that part and use standard Non-dropped pegs. But they'd have to be machined, because the Uly footpeg bracket channels are narrower than on Lightning or firebolts. I suspect the toughest part to solve would be the Brake MC mounting. Line lengths are all different, and there are belt clearance issues. I think it is doable, but not simple bolt on. I haven't tried, though. Al |

Al, Thanks for the additional info. Do you HAVE to have the pulley cover for a functional, as opposed to safety, reason? I am imagining cobbling up something to provide the safety function. |
