I finally got around to resetting the TPS with my VDSTS software last night. Noticed something that seems odd: TPS was at 5.6 and the idle was about 1050 before I started. I backed off he idle screw until I hit 0.0 and then gave it some more and verified the butterfly stuck a bit when I opened the throttle. Reset the TPS and readjusted the idle hot. TPS is now at about 5.8-6.0. Bike didn't seem to run noticeably different. Since the original setting gave 0.0 when I backed the screw out, I assume the TPS was set correctly. However, why am I getting a higher value now for the same idle speed? |

Throttle position doesn't go negative. The new value that you have would indicate that it was off a little bit below zero. IT probably hit 0 before the butterfly was completely closed down, and then as the butterfly continued closing, the voltage continued to change but the TP didn't when it pegged at 0. You may not sense the bike running differently, but it probably IS fueling a little better now. Al |
