i just finished fixing some top end leaks on my 99 X1. before i took it apart, the rockers/heads were noticeable noisy. this wasnt the cases a few months ago. the noise is in time with the engine and is not just a one off clunk every now and again. it sounds like the equivalent of loose tappets, but i know it isnt, because it has hydraulic lifters, which makes me wonder if the early x1 had problematic lifters? any input is appreciated |

Yo Robbo just saw this, Check out the side movement and the bushes of the rockers in the top ends. Bushes are easy to replace if worn and you can get thin spacers if they slip side to side a bit more than they should (it isn't much). |
