Bought my bike from their 610 location; had service performed at 190 location. Both locations didn't seem to like dealing with Buells much in general. Also damaged my bike during what should have been a simple repair, tried to conceal it, and then gave me a hard time about getting it fixed. And don't get me started about the bike being delivered late with 50 extra miles on it and a dented muffler. Sadly enough, I wouldn't recommend dealing with them. Go to Stubbs in Houston or ride out to Independence H/D in College Station. On a positive note, Mancuso does have an excellent Riders Edge Program. Took the basic course and enjoyed it/learned a lot as a new rider. Earned a "Most Likely to Accelerate" certificate at their little graduation ceremony. That tickled me to death! It seemed that every time I looked up, an instructor was giving me the "slow down" hand signal. I thought they were doing that with everyone and just grinned as I flogged my little Blast around the course. The advanced course has been booked solid all summer. Must be good. Either that or they don't want to see me on their course with my XB12S. LOL! |

What did they damage on your bike? How did they try to hide it? Please provide specifics. |

Hey Blake. By no means do I want to come off as a rebelrouser here. Though I think the treatment received is deserving of a general warning to other Buellers in the Houston area, I don't necessarily want to open another can of worms with them now. I'd still like to take the advanced Riders Edge course (only offered at their store in the Houston area) and I already suspect that the reason it's "booked solid for months" every time I call is because they think I still hold a grudge and may cause trouble (which is not the case - their beginners course was excellent and the instructors were awesome). On a positive note I can say that they did fix everything that was damaged to my satisfaction and also paid for 200 miles of round trip transportation. The bad part is that I had to go all the way to the general manager to get anything done and threaten to call Mr. Mancuso himself. They were rude, accused me of lying and damaging the bike myself, and really dragged their feet in making repairs. It took a week of calls trying to find someone who would help me and several hours on the phone. What happened initially is the primary sprocket compensator nut came off. Being less than six months old, I wanted it fixed under warranty. When I bought the bike, my salesman told me that if I ever had any warranty issues they would be happy to provide transportation even though I was way up at the SHSU campus in Huntsville. When I called them to make arrangements for repairs, they refused to come get it. I ended up borrowing dad's utility trailer and pulled it down there and picked it up myself. When I picked it up, the shift lever wasn't properly installed on the shift shaft, the clutch cable was pinched between the lower faring and primary cover causing it to burst the first time I rode it, and there was a 1" long gash in the paint on the primary cover where someone had dragged it/dropped it on the concrete. Being a greenhorn, I didn't really look the bike over when I picked it up. I was still naively under the impression that the dealership was just down the road from the pearly gates themselves and the expert mechanics could not possibly make a mistake. I discovered the shifter misalignment the first time I rode it (fixed myself), discovered the busted cable housing the next day after noting the pool of primary fluid under the bike in the garage, and noticed the rub mark in the paint while inspecting the busted cable housing. I say they tried to conceal the damage because the person that scratched the primary cover knew full well what he did and did not attempt to make repairs/replacements. The damage didn't involve any big ticket items and didn't cause me to be out of pocket anything. Everything's fine now even though I would never spend a penny in their 2 stores or recommend them to anyone because of employee's poor attitudes. Like I said, I don't really want to make a big deal out of this. Customer service is never 100% perfect all the time. I accept that. And as far as their balking about fixing the damage, I have to admit that part of their foot dragging was probably just protecting their own interests and trying not to get the wool pulled over their eyes. In general I feel like they tried to treat me like a stupid kid though. They could have been a little nicer while they were protecting their interests. Bottom line, they probably spend less than $200 for parts, labor, and transportation, but how much did they lose by not being able to take advantage of the most powerful marketing tool on the planet - my referrals? |

I bought my Blast at Mancuso on the 610 Loop. They did not even have a new one in stock, lucky for me, someone had just traded in a 2006. Everyone is really nice, but I am frustrated that Buell is treated like the forgotten stepchild. They carry absolutely no accessories, clothing, or hats. And parts - well I waited a week for a flasher for the turn signal. You would think that they would have something that minor in stock. I want to invest in Buell, but it worries me that the 4th largest city in the US does not have a dealer who is more dedicated to Buell. |

Mancuso does have a certified Buell mechanic on staff now. They did my 5,000 mile check up (ok I had 6,100) on the bike and I think everything is good. They had several Buells in stock, but absolutely no clothing or parts for sale. They told me they are no longer doing the motorcycle safety course with Buells, but instead with some small jap bikes. I thought that was really interesting coming from a HD/Buell dealer. Another thing, when I was at the dealer and looking at the Buells the sales guy walked over and asked if I owned a Buell. I said yes - a Blast - his response was that I need to think about buying a Harley instead of moving up on Buells. I told him that if I wanted a Harley I would be looking at them, but I was not looking at them so I don't want one. The question that he should have asked was - have you thought about buying a larger Buell. |

I think the store could use new management customer service not very good and low stock all the time and way over priced used bikes (better chance on ebay). I know that Harley Davidson is going through some trouble but come on get some bikes in the show room. Every time I go in to the location (HWY 290) there are a bunch of customers but no new bikes whats going on? It seems like they need a make over. For being a big dealer in one of the largest cities in the USA you think HD would help them keep their show room in better shape. I have noticed many other stores in Texas like in San Antonio and Austin are way ahead of the game come on Mancuso lets go. No parts or accessories yet but they did get one shirt in stock now YAEHHH! they could at least stock a buell sticker or something! But anyways another complainant I emialed the sales guys from their website and it took them like two weeks to get back to me. By that time I had purchased my buell from a private seller much better deal than the two they had in stock. They need to get on it they are losing lots of potential customers everyday. But a praise to them is that they do have a great rider course I hear. I see them out there every weekend. |

Cant say anything about their sales or parts department but I do have something positive to say. I'm flying into Houston from Switzerland in November for a 10 day South Texas Tour. I booked my rental bike with them and they were both helpful and generous. I will see what happens when I get there but so far they get the thumbs up from me. Dick: Is your itinerary cast in stone yet? November at el ranchito can be very nice...about halfway between Houston and Austin, and about an hour from Mancuso's Hwy 290 store. Guests are always welcome! rt |
