I have been using them for years on the RS1200 and S3. VERY stable and the bike will not fall over. Build 2 of these straps about 1.25" wide by 38" long, (50" before sewing the loops.). Use a "Cherry Picker"/Engine Hoist to lift the front or back of the bike. (In my opinion, if you work on your own Buell, you must own one for tire and motor mount/isolator replacement.) On the rear of the S3 wrap through the frame on the left and right where the service manual states. All loops go into the hoist hook. On the rear of the RS1200, wrap them in old long sleeve T-shirt sleeves so they will not scratch the paint. Put one end of each straps loop through each passenger peg mount with the other end of both straps in the hoist hook. NOTE: Do NOT lift from the passenger pegs!!! Lift from the peg MOUNTS! For the front of the bike use one looped under the frame at the steering head with the loops into the hoist hook. Hey! the bike can even be moved while hanging this way. If you need to lift both ends, use the hoist to lift, then hang from the rafters. Works for me. (Message edited by 89rs1200 on October 18, 2006) |
