Hey. Because of rising oil consumption (1,2 liters/1000Km),I'm asking myself if I just rebore my stock cylinders and go with the next oversize or should I try the 1250cc? I'm wondering if the stock TS heads,in fact mine are flow optimized by M-Tek,go with the Axtell 1250cc from NRHS. And if so,will the SE 536 cams match,or will I get problems with valve overlapping? Do I need to upgrade my valve springs? Do I have to modify the gearcase because of the higher lobe? Can I expect any gains in torque or hp superior to stock size Hurricane pistons combined with X1 cams? Ralph |

Not sure what you are asking about flow optimized heads. Check out the 1250 kit from Revolution Performance, it comes with a lifetime guarantee and a much better price than the one you mention. |

It's the same TDC lift as SE's "bolt in" cam "Do I need to upgrade my valve springs?" A definite, yes. "Do I have to modify the gearcase because of the higher lobes?Will they require to grind material of my rocker boxes?" Probably not the gearcase, but you may have to grind on the rocker box lid. No Biggie. "Bike is a 2002 Cyclone" Nice bike. You should always, ALWAYS, check clearances. Anything worth doing is worth doing with all of the anal-retentiveness in your soul! |

No, these will need to be changed to accomodate the larger cams. Do I have to modify the gearcase because of the higher lobe? You should not with this particular grind. Can I expect any gains in torque or hp superior to stock size Hurricane pistons combined with X1 cams? Yes, you are not only gaining displacement but you are mechanically unshrouding the valve area and helping the heads work better. I would encourage you to adjust the compression ratio up to at least 10.75:1 to get the most from these cams. This is still pump gas friendly. Hi, don't know if this suits in this topic but I have an issue with my 1250 Milleniums, better said, the pistons! Both pistons broke and damaged the comoplete engine..... ... anyone familiar with this and know if this can be reclaimed in any way? and what is a good alternative set of cylinders and pistons? /popjpeg{406663,} Thanks, Paul. From the pictures it looks like you had problems getting the wrist pins out right? If that's the case, the damage is probably from lower a rod bearing problem. If care is not taken removing pistons, ANY side load put on the con rods during disassembly or reassembly can damage the big end bearings. The hosed bearings let the wrist pin rock side to side and cause the wrist pin holes in the pistons to kind of pean over. That's why the pins are hard to remove with out a pin puller.
