I am looking to change the fairing on my xb9sx. I like the euro look of the firebolt, because it is more aerodynamic. I have been told there will be sometriple tree work needed. can some one help me to understand the task at hand better? Has any one else done this? |

Kenetik- The only "work" involved in putting Firebolt front end on your CityX would be: (1) remove XB*S lights/clocks mount pieces plus XB*S top triple clamp, replace with XB*R clamp; (2) replace XB*S ignition switch with XB*R switch (probably best to do get entire lock set: ignition lock, gas cap, and tail lock, to use single key); (3) install XB*R magnesium front fairing mount; (4) install XB*R lights module; (5) install XB*R fairing & windshield; (6) install XB*R mirrors; (7) install XB*R handlebars (stub tubes) into triple top clamp & attach hand controls (might require different length brake line); Seems that there are a couple of folks here that have made this mod happen. I did some research and collected parts to do so myself, but will likely stick with the Lightning setup... so we could strike a deal for all the stuff I've bought in csae you're interested. Hopefully someone who's done this swap will chime in to correct my errors. Mark Oregon |
