I'm going to the track for the 2nd time this weekend. My shift lever feels a little too low when I am wearing my race boots, so I'd like to raise it a touch. How exactly do I do this? The manual says to visit my dealer. Yeah, right! I don't think I need a trip across town to drop a hundred bucks every time I change my boots... I loosened the two lock nuts and assumed I simply needed to turn the barrel nut to adjust the height, but the freaking thing is smooth and round! How am I supposed to turn it to dial in the adjustment? Any help is much appreciated. |

Drill a small hole all the way through in the center of the tube that you can insert a metal punch though, the hole should be no more that 1/8 inch. This will let you insert the punch through it to turn it after you loosen the lock nuts. If you want you can drill 2 sets of holes about 1/2 inch apart vertically and 180 degrees apart horizontally. So you can make quicker adjustments. |
