Wondering if anyone has any ideas if my fuel pump might be going belly up soon. Normally when i turn on the bike, it makes a high pitch whine of what i think is the fuel pump engaging to prepare to start. It goes on for about 4 seconds at which time the check engine light goes out as well. Start the bike no problems. Today at lunch, i turn it on, the whine kicks in..but doesnt stop. it does sorta drop down a little after 4 seconds..but keeps going. Bike started normal no issues otherwise. Any info would be helpful. thanks jeff |

I'm no expert, but yeah, I'd say the fuel pump is a good suspect. I know the one on my pickup got a lot noisier just before it gave up the fight. Good luck |

A battery in poor shape could be suspect too. DAve |
