Does anyone know of a "emergency drive belt" that will fit the Buells. Mine broke coming back from Laguna Seca. Got up the last morning to ride the last 200 miles.....went about 6-8 blocks, took off from an intersection after waiting for the light, pulled in the clutch and shifted into first.....snap goes the drive belt. I've lost a lot of faith in the "belt drives" and would like to carry some "insurance" if I don't go to a chain conversion. In the 44 years that I have been riding (most every brand) I have never been stranded by a chain. The thing that bothers me the most is that I have absolutely babied my 2001 M2 since I bought it brand new and have kept a careful eye on all the adjustments and services, as learned from this great site. I'm well aware from the KV archives that some people have gotten far less mileage as well as those who have gotten far more. The belt drive was one of the many reasons that I bought a Buell. I have found that V-Twin has a emergency belt for the big bikes but have found nothing for the Buell. Thanks in advance and excuse my sniveling 19,700 miles on the odometer by the way. |

I don't knkow of any, but have thought that a simple limp home adhesive or other type of patch might be worth making. |

A Sportster belt 128 tooth will work and they should be relatively easy to find. |
