The 190 will fit the rim. It will slow down your bikes responses to steering inputs. This may not even be noticeable if you do not have tight twisties in your area. |

Thanks Diablobrain, Well Twisties are what we are all about up here in Nova Scotia... So lets say I`m not knee dragging but I only have an 1/8 of an inch so called chicken strip on the rear now, I`m by no means a knee dragger just the same, So would I really notice much of a difference then in other words? Thanks again... |

I wouldn't do it if I were you. You know how sensitive these bikes are to tires. Having the wider tire on the narrower rim changes the tire profile and even ride height to a small extent. You can compensate for those things of course, but why, when you don't need to? I understand wanting the wider tire, but I'm more of a function before form kind of guy though. 180's still seem wide to me after riding on 160-18's on my old gixxers. These tires seem pretty massive by comparison! Some pretty smart guys designed this bike to work it's best with the factory size tires. |

Some pretty smart guys also fitted Dunlops to the very same bike with ill effects. A 190 doesn't slow the bike down in any respect. If you went to the extreme and fitted a tire that you are starting to pinch to fit the rim is when the tire no longer works properly. |

Personally, I'd use the stock size. If you want upgrade, make sure the tire manufacturer says the stock-size wheel will work. Keep in mind that installing a wider tire on the same size rim will result in a SMALLER contact patch, especially with low profile tires. |
