A friend bought his daughter a 2002 blast with very low mileage, he but a after market pipe on, it ran fine, then he but in a bigger jet and a needle fuel valve, and a k&n air filter. Well now it wont stay running, backfiring out carb, will barley run, took air cleaner off and the inside of carb looks real sooty (black) so he but the stock jet and needle back in but the same thing is happing, runs like crap. anyone have any idea's? Thanks Mike |

Also the local dealer parts guy said that the diaphragm under the black plastic cover may have gotten pinched, so we but a new one in, and still the same thing. I’m thinking bad crank sensor, or ignition module? THX... |

Did he put an extra screw into the carburetor mount, into the float bowl breather hole? The carb mount only has three screws, so if he has four, he's plugged the float-bowl breather hole. Don't ask me how I know about this. ![: ]](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/proud.gif) |

Since he disassembled the carb, did he inadvertently reset the float, maybe bend the tab or installed upside down or left float check valve out or didn't get clip on right? Just common dumb things we do to carbs. |

When something like this happens you need to go back to the last thing you worked on--this being the carb. Something you did in the alteration/rebiuld of carb has caused this,so take a look at each change.Change it back if necessary. |
