I apologize if this question has been asked before. I attempted to do a search but only found riders doing the opposite conversion. I just recently took interest in the XB12R and 12S. I have always been a track guy riding GSXR 750s and 1000s. I can't stand riding sport bikes on the street for a multitude of reasons. Anyway, I really dig the hooligan/street fighter looks of the Buell plus it's American made. I don't like the risers and general upright riding position of the Lightning. I do love the clip-ons and riding position of the Firebolt but can't stand the upper fairing/windscreen. Has anybody made this conversion? I want the aggressive riding position and seat cowl without the goofy windscreen. No disrespect to those who do like it. Thanks and hope to be posting about my riding experiences soon. | ||

Me owning a 05 12S have been watching ebay for parts to come up to swap mine from s to r. For the same reasons you want to only in reverse. Its a matter of gauges ignition switch, clutch cable, top triple tree, but you can use r tree on the s. If you get one let know maybe we can help each other out. | ||

I'm looking for some kind of windscreen for my XB12Scg. It doesn't have to be pretty, I would probably only mount it for big freeway trips. I just don't want to get beat up while my husband hides behind his big shield on his FJR. Any info appreciated, the only thing I've found so far is the Laminar Lip which is a clip on. | ||

I mounted a replica of a 1957 Royal Enfield screen on my 05 XB12Scg with three bell license plate fasteners. I'll post pics when I get them out of my camera (probably tomorrow). You can go to their website and find pics of it too. It's about $56 if I recall correctly. Really does a good job of getting the wind off my chest. |
