2004 XB12s. Around 8400 miles. I've replaced plugs, and wires. The engine light does not come on when it hiccups. It seems to only do it when under a load above about 3500 rpms. I've looked for wires that were worn through, everything is tight. I'm thinking coil may be bad. Any ideas? I'm trying to avoid spending a bunch of money since the bike is for sale.

Missing when hot is a classic sign of a bad coil.

The easiest way to diagnose (for cars, anyway) is to bolt in a known good coil. I've heard of mechanics taping an ice pack on the coil and seeing if that helped. Don't know if you can fit on an XB coil or not...it's tight in there.

Good luck,
Bill
