Is anyone using the torque handgrips?

I've got the traction grips which have a nice shape, but I do not like the feel, they get too sticky when humid, they hold on to any grime that might get on them, etc... It's fine when I have gloves on, but I don't always wear my gloves and I hate that sticky feel.

Hence my question regarding the torque grips, I like the look, I know they are not as ergonomically designed as the traction grips, but .. how are they ? They look to be made of a different material that won't hold dirt and grime.

Or will a new set of tractions (at the price you can get em for, it wouldn't kill me to replace em every now and then)hold up good enough until they get broken in ?

Thanks
Brian

If you don't *have* to have grips that say Buell on them, I'd recommend gel grips. Soft enough without being squishy and not sticky at all.

Check with Al at American Sport Bike.

I have the traction grips as well, and mine are getting worn (either the previous owner dropped it, it got clipped in a parking lot, or the kids in my neighborhood dropped it), and the end is about to tear off. I'm going to change them out, and I found some gel grips on ebay for about the same price as new traction grips. I'll check with Al first, because I also need to find out how to change them out. Let me know if you have any feedback.

Henrik - Unfortunately I am one of those odd ones that like to keep things 'factory' -- not meaning stock, but meaning not much in aftermarket unless specifically made for it. I am the same way with my cars, I am into BMW's big and anything I do has got to be 1- period correct, 2 - made by BMW or by a BMW specific tuner ... I'm just weird like that I guess. BTW - I am going to go and drop off them extra plates at the Post Office today if I have a chance, if not tomorrow for sure.

I just bought a new set of traction grips on ebay. Got them 20% cheaper online. I love the feel compared to the stock grips on my M2 but i had to cut the ends out to allow my bar end mirrors to go back on... The old grips had plugs that simply popped out.. I still cant figure out why the torque grips are nearly three times as much???

That is exactly why I asked what I did, they are nice looking grips, but nearly 70 bucks is the cheapest I have found .. and if they aren't as comfortable, they aren't worth it just for looks.

I'll probably just go with a new set of Tractions, or just wear my gloves all the time ... got fingerless ones for summer anyway ... I dunno

Brian, I understand about staying "stock-ish". Not quite like that myself, but I understand.

Great. Thank you. I'll keep an eye out.

Do the Traction grips have the throttle tube molded into the grip like the Torque ones do?
