Can anyone tell me the best way to clean an aftermarket breather filter? Is there anything special I need to do before re-installing it? I know it sounds like a ignorant question but i want to make sure i'm doing right. Thanks |

Is it reusable? If so it is likely the K&N type and can be cleaned in soapy water, blown dry, then re-oiled. |

Actually, 409 as the presoak(degreaser) Some warm soapy water, swish til clean. Bucket of clean(non soapy) water swish til no longer soapy(replace water as many times as needed). Let air/sun dry. Re-oil with fabric or foam filter oil as your situation dictates. Blowing frays the fibers. This is, of course, a guideline to keep the filter in tip top shape for the longest period of time. Blakes way will work too. |
