I've a X1-2K. I keep loosing 1 cyl (the front one). It often happens on high RPM. Have anyone had the same kind of problem? Where should I start to look for the solution to this problem?
Thanks!

When it happens, are you at a high enough rpm for it to be the rev limiter?

Is your sidestand safety switch in good working order?

Ara and others,
I have a 1999 Sportster with the Axtell kit 88"
Edelbrock heads
JE flatop
HQ XL0043 cams 600/530 246/252
S&S E
Vthunder ignition
Thunderheader

I built this motor last year and it runs strong. Last Friday night I went drag racing at the local strip. I made three passes and parked the bike to let it cool down and after eating I fired it up and made several more passes. Later that night I made a pass and my motor locked up on me. After trailering it home and checking all the possibilities. I tore it down to the cases. I found the rear rod is froze up so I guess due to heat the rear rod welded itself to the crank pin. Has anyone had any problems like this?
That is the only known problem. So what will need replaced? Rods, crank pin, bearings, flywheels...? Are the S&S heavy duty rods better than stock?

Thank you for your help and insights,

Steve Queen
