I just did one and am curious.   Tim Posted on Monday, April 14, 2003 - 05:06 pm:        120psi or more and no more than 10 psi difference between cylinders is considered normal, according to my service manual for my '99 M2 when test is performed as outlined below. They recommend that engine be at normal operating temp. Remove plugs after cleaning around the base of the plugs. Connect tester to front cylinder. With carburetor throttle plates in wide open position crank engine thru 5-7 full compression strokes. Note gauge reading at at end of first and last compression strokes. Repeat on rear cylinder. Repeat test after injecting 1/2 oz. of SAE 30 into each cylinder. Readings that are considerably higher during the second test would indicate worn rings.
