Hey guys, I like the look of the hand guards used on the CityX, so I'm thinking about adding a set to my Ss. However, the CityX guards are just a tad dull compared to some of the others I've seen out there. I was wondering if anyone has yet to mount an aftermarket hand guard set to their XB, or what brands might work. I've never dealt with guards before, so I dunno if they all attach the same way as the CityX. Thanks! ~SM |

Well, I can't help you with mounting aftermarket guards on an XB, however I have mounted aftermarket guards on other bikes. Usually they mount similarly, however, my CityX has the integrated mirror mount/handguad mount. Most aftermarket handguards have a separate 2 piece mount. You need to know the diameter of the bars, which I think are 7/8ths, but maybe someone who knows can chime in. Here's a link to Acerbis, but there are many others: http://www.acerbis.com/p106_handguard/7838.html The bar ends are pretty straight forward. Do you have a particular brand in mind? Most of the MX ones don't lend themselves to a streetbike, so it may be tough finding one you like. |

I had handguards from the CityX put on my 03 Lightning. Just order the handguard part number from the dealer. They fit perfectly - love 'em! You can put the headlight guard on too. It just snaps over the headlights. |

I'd like to put the handguards on my Firebolt. Anybody know if they'll fit without problems? |
