Does anyone know of where i could get a shorter shifter lever for my '05 xb12r? i may only be 5'9" but i have size 12 feet and the lever hits me way to high on my foot. is there something aftermarket i could put on or will it be a custom mod thing? Any info would be appreciated. |

"IMPROVISE", shorten the original ... Do the measurements, cut and fit, find a WELDER ... You will be a lot happier with your endivers !!! |

Darn, I was hoping I wouldn't have to find a welder. I'm just 5'3" and when I have the arch of my foot on the footpeg my toes don't reach the shifter. And I'd rather not ride in tennis shoes, but right now that seems like the only answer. If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate them. Thanks. |

I've shortened several shifter levers for my best riding buddy -- no welding reguired -- on tubers (and many other bikes) the toe piece of the lever is screwed into the lever -- unscrew it, make the place you want it to be, drill and tap a hole (1/4 X 20 for tubers, I believe), screw in the toe piece, and, voila! shorter shift lever! |

Dont know if anyone is still interested BUT, the toe piece on the XBs is a part of the shifter not screwed in. I know because mine broke off. Anyway. I drilled a hole and tapped it for 5/16 24 threads because I had a bolt that was a perfect fit for that, anyway thats a different matter. Find a toe piece you like and find the place on the shifter you want it, drill and tap your hole, its JUST that simple! |
