I am getting ready to remove the muffler from my 05 CityX and am noticing that getting the muffler off without removing the belt tensioner looks tricky. Any tips, shortcuts or advice that will facilitate removal would be great!! Also will I need locktite when I go to reassemble? |

I was able to get the rear muffler straps off by using a really long extension. Then, when I put them back on. I positioned them differently to make it easier to get back off. WHen you reassemble, Kevin made a suggestion of puting a high temp sealer where the header goes into the muffler to prevent leaks. Make sure you put it in the slits of the muffler too, the part that closes to make a tight fit. I have a post in this forum about my experience taking my muffler off. It may help more. |

I'm late to this thread but I just put the race kit on my bike last week & to my great delight I discovered that all I had to do was remove the front sprocket cover. With that off I was able to use a 6" extension & go between the belt & tensioner pulley to the strap nuts. It was a total straight shot, no wobble was needed. It was so simple that I put the new straps on in the same exact position. |

One more tid bit that may or may not be important. I had my bike on a rear stand when i did mine. I'm thinking maybe having the swingarm compressed up like that gave me more room for the tools to get in there. |

Just installed drummer used long ext.small ratchet 1/4" had bike on lift was very easy |
