Gday all, Just picked up a 2002 M2 cyclone down in Australia, fully stock, and am gonna get new exhaust system. 2 options open to me here - 1. D&D full exhaust and forcewinder 2. Pro series race kit, but can't get ECM at the moment (is it necessary for either of these option?) I have the euro gearing on my bike, so was lookin for more punch in low/mid. cheers |

Euro gearing is your main problem--you have IIRC 29 front with 55 rear, you really need the 61 tooth rear pulley. It will make a world of difference. The race module on carbed Buells really did not do much except raise the rev-limit. If you want to change modules try a Dyna 2000 --they have multiple curves and you can run single fire if you change the coil. I use them and like the results. And I am partial to the Buell race pipe but that's just me. I was just down your way for 2 weeks seeking nirvana at Lake Gairdner. |

Just try the race modul. It's worth the money. Not really more revs, but a different ignition curve.Gives more power just where you want it,in the middle range. No Harley V-Twin needs a single fire. http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/hdignitionmodules.htm Ralph (Message edited by xldevil on March 19, 2006) |

X1, This is for a M2, not an X1. The curves are exactly the same with the exception of the rev limiter. The race version doesn't have the soft retard at the top. It keeps full advance until redline at 6800 RPM then the limiter kicks in hard. The X1 ECM however makes a huge difference for fuell injected tubers like you mentioned. The D&D are a nice pipe but they are quite loud. The Forcewinder works well too. A new one will have to be closely checked to make sure it's not blocking the float bowel vent. The carbon fiber ham can is also an option for you if you don't have a knee clearance issue. The Forcewinder gives you the most room. |

The curves are exactly the same with the exception of the rev limiter Curves differ, at least for the european modules. AFAIK there are no other standard modules for the US- same p/n. Therefore even the US race ignition curve should be different to the standard curve. Btw. 2001up Cyclones have a black box ,that is similar looking to the X1 box.Maybe Kremmen was calling this kind of module ECM (Message edited by xldevil on March 19, 2006) |
