Back in the day of Tuber Problems, there were concerns that the throttle cables, if not properly adjusted, could jump out of the receiving barrels on the carb side. Now imagine your throttle cable stuck at WFO - and then get thee to thy bike and make sure it doesn't happen to you: The cables can be safety wired in place by making a loop around the cables themselves (individually) and securing the other end around the cable bracket; as seen in these photos. Buell on later model tubers installed a safety bracket kit, which will secure the cables, similar to safety wiring. This is a five minute installation, but do not expect to receive the tiny screw that clamps the two parts together. For that you'll need a trip to the hardware store. I recommend SS, of course. |
