I took my bike to the local repair/tune shop. I watched him test my setup and I got 210psi. Bike was in Neutral, throttle was wide open, and the started spun it over. I check around on the net but the only thing I can find says that over 180psi "These are all out race engines. A street motor in this range will be trouble. Stick to the track." the tuner guy told me it was ok to run pump gas and that in the summer time I might need octane booster. how much static cranking pressure does your bike put out? |

200+ on our race bike at 13.75 to 1. . Was the bike Hot or Cold and how much oil could have been in the cylinders to seal oil the rings? If the engine is stock 210 might just be a good tight engine. Does it ping during roll-ons? If it's running OK with no pinging ride it and watch what you add to the gas and remember these things have 02 sensors. ... Terry |

stock XB12 is 160 PSI cold. will run 87 octane. 89 inch sportster is 205 PSI cold or hot, can be run (gently) on 90 octane, but really prefers blended fuels including toluene, methanol, acetone, 100low lead aviation gas, or what ever i can find to mix in. it is really too hot for street use, and when i next take apart the motor, i will lower the compression a bit. |
