Buying a Buell motor on Ebay is a little bit of a hit or miss as far as getting a decent deal. I wouldn't mind starting with a Sportster motor out of a salvage yard and building my own. The question is, "How do I do that?". I've got a frame in my basement that needs a motor of its very own. I'll be within a few miles of another this weekend, but not too sure how cheap I could pick it up. I'd like to resurrect both, but need to find a cost effective way to do it. Thanks for any info. |

Cost effective is relative, easily the most expensive piece to buy is the motor/trans,and if I rememeber correctly,Sportster motors are no cheaper.Maybe even more money as alot of HD folks don't realize Buell motors fit.But if you can find "deals" on motors have at it.Don't imagine you will be making a bunch on resaale, though as the market is not there, unfortunately. |

I'd just like to break even, and that's with using "donor" parts from my bike as I add a little bling. I've gotten away from watching ebay. I'll have to keep some money aside and keep rolling the dice. |
