When I installed my new header (2004 XB12), I noticed that the original nuts were relatively loose. It's a wonder they didn't vibrate off. When I installed the new one, I used distorted thread centerlock nuts. Since these have their own inherent drag due to the distorted thread construction, I would assume that the torque spec would need to be adjusted accordingly. If this is true, is there a simple rule of thumb (like add 3 lb-ft) to use in determining the proper torque? |

I'd stick with the stock torque Specs! The little bit if friction the nuts create probably doesn't amount to a quarter Ft. Lb. in torque. It's just enough to keep them from spinning off from vibration. |
