Just bought an 2000 S3T and am just starting my narrow saddlebag cover search. What year covers will work with these, is there even any difference between the different years? P/N's would be greatly appreciated also, if anybodies got them.
Thanks
Dean

Z0722.EPMD Right side deep cover primed
Z0721.EPMD Left side deep cover primed
These are from my 2002 parts book. They are PRIMED cover numbers. They may have been superceded by now.}

I have a '99 Parts manual. What color are you looking for?

Out of a 97-98 S3T parts book:
90515-97yya Left Billet Metalic
90515-97yye Left Amazon Green
90515-97yyf Left Black Magic
90516 are the right side numbers.
Narrow lids of course.

I also think the narrow lids have a different hinge than the 2000 units. It looks like a pin on the narrow lids. The newer lids and inners have a drop in hinge. The two different hinges obviously won't work together. Do you have the inner bags?

'97-'98 has different hinges and inner mounts than the '99-'02. Ya can use earlier sets on later bikes and vice versa

Narrow and deep lids are interchangable as long as the match inners

That is a lot of information! I have the complete bags, but only the wide covers, and was trying to find a set of the narrow covers. So what I'm reading I can only use the later style lids since that is what style of inners I have. Someone also told me that I might be able to use the pre 99 style if I change the hinge, any knowledge of this. Thanks for the help.

Thanks I think I'm going to get this figured out. So will the older cover still fit the newer inner then, if I change the outer hinge?

The older cover looks like a 2 screw setup (according to the parts book). I don't have an older cover hinge or I'd have the picture for you. Looks like measuring and drilling time for you.

the 99 parts book incorrectly lists the 97/98 parts (along with images of the 97/98 "T" body parts)

I have not heard of anyone swapping hinges.

I think I still have a rashed left 99 "small" bag lid if anyone wants it.

Hey ya JOsh. I remember something about that but my '99 parts manual has images of '99 parts.
Maybe it's a revised parts book?
shallow lid p/n's
I've never heard of anyone trying to swap hinges either. I'd keep it simple.
Just remember...those inner saddlebags normally eventually crack. Search the archives here on BadWeb for the repair.

Could be. Sure wasted Ted's time (and $$) as at the time the online stuff also listed the wrong parts.

Still in Birm?

I purchased narrow lids for my 02 S3T. They only offered the deep lids in 02 so I ordered the narrow lids from a 2000 parts book. I don't have the part number as I have the 02 parts book. I actually found one lid at a swap meet but ordered the second through the local shop.(very pricey)

Never heard of that before Thunderbolt_rider. From Buell's web page in 2002 on the S3T

"Special Features
High touring handlebars, Color coordinated saddlebags (deep or narrow covers) with fitted inner luggage, Color coordinated fairing lowers, fairing and underseat storage bags"

http://web.archive.org/web/20010716094610/www.buell.com/products/s3tspecs.asp

I'll check sales literature tomorrow perhaps.

My left bag just broke..had to drill a hole under the handle and use a bugger pick to open it....works better than drilling out the screws.

Does anyone know if the latches are still in the buell system....mine is a 98 s3t
