Tried a search with no luck. Wanted to know if anyone has a shift light on their bike and how they installed it. I have an 03 xb9r. Some stand alone shift lights have you tap in to the neg side of the coil, manual didn't mention a neg side of the coil. Any suggestions, advice, wisdom? |

There is a tach loop in your wiring harness. Not sure where it is on an "R", but on an "S" it's in the main harness near where it basses along the left side of the battery. It is just a loop of wire that protrudes from the harness. The loop is intended to be used with an inductive tach pickup for a dyno or other test equipment. If I remember right, it's simply one of the wires that feeds the coil. You might be able to tap into it for your shift light. Steve. |
