I had pulled the rocker box stuff off. Got down to the head. I then notice that the tool I was told would work will not. rockershafts need to be in place for the tool to work. But the rockershafts when in place have no room for the tool to be used..

Plus the front exhaust valve looks even tighter to fit a tool into that area.

I guess I'll just pull the head. Since I'm half way there.

Got any tips.

Ok,, I figured out for the front head intake valve spring. I can place a ratchet or metal bar across the frame and use it for a pivot point. Just like it was the rocker shaft get err done. lol.

Just need to get the correct adaptor to for the spark plug hole. All I got to do is tap the spring retainer to unlock the seats. How will I know if the seats are un locked? How hard of a tap with a hammer should I used?

But this will only work for the intake valve. I doubt I can work magic on the exhaust valve. So I've got a 50% chance in finding the bad valve seal....

We'll I pulled the head off. For sure the problem is with the intake valve part. either guide or seal.

Can I use a good size c-clamp with a homemade end piece on the valve retainer--verse a real spring compressor tool? just an idea - perhaps I can rent the tool from somebody?

if you were to walk into the dealership i work at, with the heads off the bike

we would probably pull the springs and seals for free

and if you were KOOL enough put them back together

LOL

but I got a better deal, now.

I won't mention his name since a few people start with the hate words. But a good engine builder is goining to clean, inspect and replace what's need for a really awesome price.

I could get a dealership to do such a thing but I trust this person and value his knowledge on heads.

but thanks for the tip.
