So here it goes ... I borrowed 6 white factory ratchet straps, labeled "Buell" from a buddy of mine to hang my Buell from the ceiling while working on the forks. After completion I cleaned the straps and unrolled them nicely and stored them in a bag in my car ready to give'm back. A couple of days later my mom moved into a new apartment and I was involved in helping with transporting the furniture. The rental truck came with no ratchet straps or tows what so ever so we ended up using my buddies. To make a long story short, family ended up rushing to bring back the rental truck on time and I wasn't directly involved working in the basement at that time. Days later I was looking for that bag with the straps and asked my mom and my bro if they had seen it, only to find out that no one knew anything and they had probably gone back with the truck. Rental company claims that they have note seen any ratchet straps on turn in. Anticipating the probs I'm facing??? My buddy is the proud owner of 2 Buells and really loved the labeled ratchet straps he got from his Buell dealer. I called this dealer but he said that those straps do not have a part. no., he only gets'm with the new bikes strapped down to a pallet and lately Harley and Buell had not used those labeled ones as often anymore. So I'm desperately looking for some info on those white ratchet straps from Buell (or Harley also). Who can get me 6 sets used or new I don't care? Heck who can get me one or two? Who knows were to get them or has any information on them. Who knows Erik? I don't want to compensate my buddy with a simple check 'cause I know how proud he was of those Buell straps. Thnx HiRez |

Hope someone can help you. In the past I've asked at four different dealerships and only been met with blank stares and "no way". Don't know where they all go, but do know a few folks on the site here have many of them. |

Watch e-bay - they pop up there all the time. That's where I picked up a couple sets. |

Harley and Buell DO use them...and they do show up on ebay. The problem is that they are crap!!! and suitable for looking at only! (Maybe as a secondary tie down ONLY)I have had two of them fail at different times while ratcheting a bike down....Cheapos, made in Taiwan! Mine had only been used once before (from the factory)and were straight from a dealer. No, the failure wasn't due to operator error. If you value your bike, get good American made tie downs. You really do get what you pay for! |

I think they're pretty handy and I have about a dozen and I've used them often. I don't know that I'd count on them repeatedly to strap down a bike. I haven't had any give it up.... yet. DAve |
