Just got done removing the rear reflectors off of my XB9R. As I was taking off the rear body piece (so I could loosen the turn signals) I noticed that NONE of the bolts holding the plastic body part on were tight (the three up top have rubber grommets). Is this by design or from vibration? They did not have Loctite so they may well have vibrated loose, but all five? I snugged them down when reinstalling but want to see what the scoop is as far as proper torque. I want to avoid cracking the plastic around the holes due to being overly tight.
I do have the manual on order so as soon as it gets here I'll stop asking these trivial questions.
Thanks in advance!

My service manual shows the following:

36-48 Inch Pounds or 4-5 NM for the lower tail bodywork (undertail/black part just above back tire).

12-36 Inch Pounds or 1-4 NM for the upper tail bodywork (part that seat is on top of).

Note that is INCH pounds...these don't require much torque. I believe the upper tail bodywork has metal washers in the plastic to help prevent cracking.

I found mine will loosen up more once I got the Drummer, Race ECM, and K&N Filter...I also noted there was more vibration overall too...likely that is why.

Many thank Lovematt!
Looks like I need to loosen them a bit before the next ride.

Jackie,
Those kind of bolts, just run them up snug and then a 1/4 turn. You'll be in good shape.........Charlie

Congratulation Charlie!
Perhaps one day I will be able to come watch you rippin' it up.
I am available to go riding most any evening so just let me know. Matter of fact I did the old ever popular Bent Mountain/Parkway loop last night. A nice ride indeed but not as fun as riding in a group.
If you would rather go target shooting and bust some squirrels we can do that as well. Either one will satisfy my desire for excitement.
