My brand new '04 XB12S stumbles and runs VERY rough under 3000RPM. First service performed last week and "supposedly" the TPS was reset properly, better now but still not like what I read on here the Buell is supposed to run. The bike sat in the showroom floor for a year and a half, so the dealer tells me it was started several time but never for long enough to get to a really hot temp. He suggested a fuel additive to clean the injectors in case they have been gummed up from the sitting and starting. Any validity to this theory? Would it do any harm to try? |

I don't buy the story. The bike was inside a temp controlled building? It is under warranty? Give it back them them an let THEM keep it until it is running correctly. Have them give you a loaner. THEY can drain the fuel and put fresh in. THEY can clean the fuel injectors. Let them replace injectors if they need to. Some fuel additives are not safe for O2 sensors...be careful. DAve |

Temp controlled, yes I have put 2000 kms (1300 miles?) on it, fuel should have cleaned out the old gas by now? Dealer is 8 hours away..... |

I would suspect fouled plugs before I suspected gummed injectors... |

Shouldn't have the plugs been checked at the service? |

If checking plugs is not specified at the service interval it would be common maintenance procedure to check the plugs, plug wires, etc if there was a reported problem. DAve |
