Anybody every experience a choke that doesn't choke properly. My problem isn't that the choke won't do it's job. It just won't "stay in place". The cable continually slides closed almost immediately.

Thanks for any input!!!!

Lake_bueller:

Tighten the "PLASTIC NUT" which is next to the enrichner knob and this controls the "SLIDING
RESISTANCE" of the enrichner control cable ...

And read "Plastic Nut" as synonymous with "easily broken".

Lake:
I went through this recently, and had the plastic nut as tight as I dared and it still slipped. Here's the solution; loosen the plastic nut-back it off several turns. Now tighten the steel nut with the star washer BEHIND the bracket using, I believe, a 5/8 or 11/16 wrench. Retighten the plastic nut with finger pressure. Should be a world of difference.

Thanks Captain!!! I've already broken the nut on my S1W when I was rebuilding last year. I'll try your method.

Don't mention it. Well, OK; you can mention it if you want to. Especially if it works as good as it did for me!
(Just don't mention it if you break the plastic nut, OK?)
