Rapid- The windscreen hinge kit is called a Flytrap from YoDude. I think they typically gor for $15 on eBay. I don't know about other Buells but it just plain didn't work on my Blast. I got the Flytrap kit plus some 'special' bag that's supposed to work really well with it. Please note the quotes... If you want to steal mine, try it, and maybe toss me some change if you like it, let me know. -Saro |

I put that flytrap thing on my cyclone, and while its not perfect, I have been very happy with it. It can be a little fussy about lining everything up when you close it to make sure the snaps "catch" right, but it is never as much work as pulling the seat, and has much more storage space. |

Reepicheep- I was NEVER able to get mine to close on the Blast. I messed with it for some time but it was too mutch of a kludge for my tastes. Besides, the Blast doesn't have enough room behind the flyscreen to stick much in there. -Saro |

Hi Guys, Does anyone know the easiest way to remove the "relief" Buell fueltank "stickers". I'm not afraid of damaging the paint since I'm planning on new paint but I'm a bit curious if i can reuse the old stickers, rather than buy new ones. If it's impossible to reuse the old ones, is it expensive and/or hard to fit new ones?? Cheers and thanks in advance /Jojje |

Yeah, that was written long ago: Heat them up with a hair dryer, (not a paint stripper: Too hot,) and work a dental floss onderneath while blowing between the sticker and tank. I did never try it out. Hans. |

What do people use to clean off the engine case? (my 2000 M2 is what looks like shot peaned or rough cast aluminum) I got some road grime on there that is unresponsive to soap, water, and toothbrush. |

I believe that is a powder coat finish. I have used a couple of spray-on citrus based engine cleaners on my cases and swingarm with excellent results. Tim |

Bill asked: What do people use to clean off the engine case? Hey Bill, I've always used Simple Green on all my cases, then simply spray it off throughly. BTW, even though we're talking about cases, keep it off wheel bearings! After its' completely dry, I use S100 Engine Brightener on the cases. You can buy S100 (small spray can) at your local stealership. My bike cases look as good as the day I bought them. If you haven't kept your cases clean on a as needed basis and baked on the grime, it might be a more difficult task to make them look new again (dunno, I've never done that). S'later, -JW:>) |

as a last resort, to get off the reallly funky stuff, starting fluid (ether) works pretty well on my cases (same finish as your M2) . . .besides, it invokes the spirit of Hunter S. Thompson into your garage . . . .and that just CAN"T be bad |

Jim, I also use Simple Green. One thing I did notice, you MUST be sure to rinse all the residue off. It greatly accelerated the oxidation of my polish job on my rocker boxes. I missed a spot on my front RB and it dulled very quickly. BTW, what's the best stuff to put on polished aluminum to slow/prevent oxidation? Thanks Brad |

Brad asked: BTW, what's the best stuff to put on polished aluminum to slow/prevent oxidation? Hey Brad, I've used just about everything on the market over the years and for me it's Wenol. Try it and you'll agree. S'later, -JW:>) |

Bike Brite, Bike Brite, get the mantra going, Bike Brite, Bike Brite. WIth all the polished aluminum I've got on my bike Simple Green and S100 have white streaked and dulled my hard work, only once! Even though S100 was free at Home Coming, I brought my own Bike Brite because I do learn quickly. For polishing Wenol, Simishrome, Denova work great and do offer at least a little bit of protection from oxidation. YRMV and IMHO may suck, but in almost 50k miles on a Buell, it's kept my bikes shiny and me lazy. Time2Work Neil S. |

A can of high pressure contact cleaner is a great for removing oil just bebefore a ride and it leaves NO residue. For the truly baked-on stuff... gunk engine bright or equivalent works well. It's water soluble and rinses of easily. A good set of scrub brushes is a must also. The areas between rear cylinder and starter and between cylinders and pushrod tubes, and front cylinder and oil filter are pretty much impossible to clean without proper size/shape scrub brushes. |

A very good engine cleaner that I just discovered is Turtle Wax Wheel Cleaner. It comes in an Orange spray bottle and all I can say is that the stuff works. I sprayed some on the right side around my pulley and was able to wipe off grunge with my finger. A good soaking took my engine back to as new looking. and it just washed off with a hose. |

Anyone- Has anyone here tried the carbon fiber front fender and rear hugger from ART? They are priced MUCH lower ($50 each) than the Buell/Sport Twin/ASB parts. As much as I'd like to support our sponsers, $100 is a decent chunk of change. Mennis |

V2win: I found them at StreetFighters-USA. Lots of cool stuff for a wide variety of bikes. Blake: Real carbon fiber! Mennis |

ART CF front and rear fenders for an X1 are $147.50 and $230 respectively. They do not advertise fenders for ANY other model of Buell. American Sport Bike (ASB) best prices are $199.95 and $227.95, the rear fender includes a belt guard. Price difference is less than $50 total. Sport Twin Prices are $197 and $230, the rear fender includes the belt guard. Price difference is less than $50. Blake |

As far as I am aware ART is a British company. I also believe it was ART CF that Warr's were using on their European Race Buell. Hope this helps. Rocket in England |

I am working on a new paint scheme for my S3T. I have some sketches that we did yesterday of three different styles. Paint colors are up in the air too. Which style do you fellows like best? We are also working on a black sapphire with white and red flames or a pearl yellow with ???
