I am switching to carburetion on my 1999 X1. As many of you are shaking your heads right now, I need to know a few things. Is it possible to utilize the existing ignition wiring and coil? If so, how do I wire it up? If not, what parts do I need to change and do you have any suggestions on brands? I have a Mikuni HSR42 and forcewinder intake. |

You can use some of the stock wiring. It would probably be easier to just buy a carb'd harness. You'd have to hack the existing harness so much anyway. There's a few connectors and the little bits that make them up as well you'll have to order. Just spend a few hours with the wiring diagrams. Carbs rock. Good luck. |
