"and leak quite a bit of gasoline out the back injector. " The fuel pump and regulator feed gas to the injectors at ~50 psi, and the injectors are only kept in place by o-rings on their top and bottom. With the tank off, remove the (metric) bolt between the injectors on the bracket that holds the fuel feed assembly on top of the injectors. The injectors assembly will now pull out on the bottom o-rings. Pull the clips on the injectors, and pull them off the fuel feed. The injector upper o-ring is probably leaking (part # 27337-99Y the lower o-ring is 27338-99Y). If the injectors still leak, the fuel pressure could be too high - any auto shop could test the pressure at the Shrader (sp?) valve on the tank - but it would probably run rich if the pressure was high? Forgot: Put a coating of motor oil on the o-rings, otherwise they are hard to get back in. Also, once the assembly is back together, turn the injectors so the electrical cables to the injectors aren't rubbing on the frame or throttle cables. Good luck! |

> only kept in place by o-rings on their top and bottom. They clip to the fuel rail which bolts to the intake. The little hex bolt to the intake is *very* easy to strip out the head. Spare o-rings are available and are about $.10 from Buell. I could not find an injector shop that could clean them, but a new pair was $45 from Buell. You can get a "noid" that clips in place of the injector and lets you test the electrical input. $12 at a automotive store. a fuel pressure gauge is about $35 and will help you work on your car also. |

Thanks for the info, I have not been able to to work on my injector problem, I had a family crisis overwhelm me over the last few days. Anyhow, it seems odd that this problem would not occur every start-up or continue while running. Would the fact that the bike was sitting for a days cause a higher pressure build-up? |
