Gramps & Spike, It's great to meet you both. I'd love to ride to Michaels some morning. Sundays aren't the best for me, but Im sure one of them will work. Where else do you all like to ride around here. I looked at Gramps'es profile and it says hw 42 is good. I might give that a try soon. Jim |

Jim, Most of my riding these days is just commuting back and forth to Ray Price, but when I wander I usually head Southwest. I've wasted many afternoons just wandering the roads around Jordan lake. You can also take 42 out to Sanford, that makes a nice ride. Be sure to let us know if you're ever able to make it to Michaels, there are a bunch of nice roads out that direction. Also, I noticed in your profile that you were interested in using Amsoil. I use Amsoil myself and recently discovered I can get a great price on it. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks Mike, I am interested. Where are you getting it? I looked at your profile and see you're 23. That means you are not the parts guy at ray price who sold me my last quart of oil :-) He was a bit older than that. The next time I am in there I will see if I can find you. Jim |

Looks like I'll be moving to Jacksonville in December. I'll be stationed at Camp Lejeune. Gonna have to find out where some good roads are. If I get the chance I'm gonna see if I can make it to Daytona. Anyone else planning on going? |

Jim, It was nice to meet you today. Hopefully I'll have more time to talk next time, we were quite busy today. I now get amsoil from my wife's dad who recently became a dealer for amsoil. The only downside is that we have to pay shipping costs. The cost of shipping a single case is almost enough to negate the discount, so it's better if we can order multiple cases at a time. I'll ask him about pricing. Mike '04 XB12R |

Thanks Mike, I couldn't have talked much longer anyway. My son is only 3 and his attention span is a bit short. He would have fun dismanteling your store if I got distracted :-) I stopped changing my own oil back when it became unacceptable to dump it down the storm drain. That was with my truck though. I haven't given much thought about what I am going to do with the bike. Do you change your own oil, and if you do, how do you get rid of the old oil? Looks like blast tires last about the same length of time as an oil change. I know I am not going to mount my own tires, so that makes it convienent to get you all to change the oil while you are doing the tires. I assume I can get the service dept to put Amsoil in if I bring it in? And I assume that Ray Price does not sell Amsoil itself? Jim |

Hey fellow NC Buellers, Just recently got on the net. Been ridin my '03 9S since may last year. I have met Brian at Tilley's and Mike at Ray Price. I live off 220 south between Asheboro and Rockingham. Don't know if any of you have ever ridin through the Uwharrie National Forest area, but there are some pretty descent up & down/ Left & right roads. I go out just about every weekend. Anybody wants to meet for breakfast then ride, shoot an email. Later, Jim |

Hey guys, I spotted a black XB9S on ten-ten road (center st.) in Apex this morning around 9:45. Any chance that was anyone here? Fbolt, There isn't a big collection of Buell riders in the Raleigh-Durham area, but there are a few of us. The common ride (for me, anyway) is to head to Michael's in Chapel Hill on Sunday mornings. On a good morning there may be well over 100 bikes of all different makes. Be sure to let us know if/when you get in town. Mike L. '04 XB12R |

Will do. Problem is work and do they have anything for me there. I'd love to move south-standard of living, quality of life,... Much more enjoyable even though I'd give up some cash. Priorities are difficult to straighten out sometimes. |

Hey Spike, Where's Michael's located? I'm presently farmed out to the RTP facility and staying right off of Miami Blvd. If I don't get farmed out elsewhere I'll bring the Buell over and ride with you. Greg |

Greg, Michael's is in a shopping center off of 15-501 in Chapel Hill. Let me know if you want to head out there some morning and I'll work up some better directions. Mike |

Mike, I know where that is. Jim, That's funny. 4825 Creekstone -- I'd say, assuming we're not in the same building, you're very close :-) Greg |

Greg - Mapquest says you are 0.55 miles from me. They also think it will take me 2 minutes to drive half a mile :-) I think I could beat that time. I'm at 1101 Slater rd. |

Jim, That's much further than I initially suspected :-) Are you a 9 to 5er? I push policies, IOS/IPSO upgrades -- off hours. Since I got back I only work 3/7's of the week unfortunately that's Fr, Sa, Su :-) Makes for a great week and a sucky weekend. Greg |

Greg - More like a 7:30 - 4:ish person. IOS... Hm thats the name of Cisco's operating system. Is that where you work? 3/7 sounds nice. I was on vacation yesterday. It was good. I'm taking my Blast in for a 2500 mile service today. I had to make sure I had all the miles on there |

Jim, Glad you got them miles on there. No, I don't work for Cisco -- goat smelling, dirtbag, 100% contractor. I just got out of a long-term relationship -- Indentured servant or something like that -- with corporate America. My new life's goal is to never work more than 1/2 the week. |

Jinance- I say we work up some kind of meeting place, and have a bunch of the Bad Webber's meet on a Sunday morning. Rubberdown recently joined the web after he got an XB12S. Another guy in this area has a 2000 X1, but not a member here, yet. Went riding Sunday on a route they call Tour de' Moore. About a 110 mile route that borders Moore county. Some straights, some curves, basically an enjoyable steady paced ride. The fun stuff is about 15 min northwest of us. I'd love to get together and meet at Michael's or someplace in between here and there,(Sanford??) Lets get something together and get us NC'ers together for a ride. JIM |
