Is there anyone here from the DFW Metroplex who wants to go ride? I see Buells around here from time to time. But I'm always in my cager and can't catch up! |

Dago, I'm in southwest FW. Often ride around the Granbury / Glen Rose area. What part of Dallas are you in? Where do you like to ride? |

Man, to be honest, I don't care where I go. You are right near Motor Sport Ranch. Nice. I live in downtown Dallas. So I generally head east. But I've spent a good deal of time in your area as well. The only place I don't enjoy riding is where I live. The traffic makes it less enjoyable. I see that you have a blue 12. I've yet to see one in person. Do you have any pics? |

It's actually a Black S like yours, I put the Hero Blue Cover on it. If I did this right you can see part of the bike. I don't have any pics of the full bike. Thinking about organizing a ride on Hwy 4 from Jacksboro to Cleburne in a few weeks, I let you know. Paul http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/72427.html |

I'm definitely in for the ride. My email and IM addresses are posted with my profile. LOL...your cowtown handle just clicked. Good one. I thought the hero blue was the opaque version. From the pics it looks like you're using the translucent CityX cover. Regardless, it looks very nice! I was thinking of heading towards Palo Pinto this weekend. I remember some twisties out that way from when I was doing some work out there. Unfortunately, I don't recall the roads being all that great. David |

I have family in town this weekend for Thanksgiving, but if the weather's decent, I want to meet and ride with others in the D/FW area in the coming weeks/months. I haven't had my 12S for long and I need to find some great roads, other than the FMs I live around (Murphy, east of Plano). Let's set something up! |

PM me. I'm always game. In fact, I think it's lame that we live in such a large city and we only have 6 posts from 3 people in our thread. I'm looking out the window right now wishing I had ridden to work. |

I DID ride to work this AM - pretty darn chilly at 7:30, but by 10:30 it was fantastic! I looked for excuses to run "errands," and the temp kept getting better all afternoon! I finally parked it at 2:15 - I had to finally "work." I work at Love Field, just north of you. PM sent. (Message edited by rpmchris on December 03, 2004) |

Yeah, I will...all day, both days. (Other shoe about to drop...) But I'm taking the Motorcycle Training Center MSF rider course in Richardson. Class starts at 8AM and ends at 5PM both days. D'OH! If you'd like to ride Saturday evening, I can do that. Lemme know tonight, or by early tomorrow morning before I leave for class, and we'll make a plan. |

D'oh! Sorry Chris. I left early on Saturday morning and never did check back here for your reply. My bad. How did your class go? |

Class was good. I "aced" both the written exam (100%) and the riding portion (score=0). Went out after class on Saturday and Sunday. We were done by 430PM, weather was perfect. Stopped a few times to soak up the sun. Overall, I rode about 1.5 hrs on Saturday and 2.5 on Sunday, mostly north and east. I now have 950 miles on the 12S in less than 6 weeks! Can't wait for good weather and longer days again. |

Hey guys, big toy run tomorrow (sunday). Two groups, one meeting in Dallas, one in Ft. Worth, both ride to the Arlington convention center. I'll be going to the Ft. Worth meeting spot. I'm on a black '03 XB9S, stock, with a yellow stripe around the wheels. Yellow jacket, yellow helmet. Come find me! Here's the link for meeting times, places, etc: http://www.thebigtexastoyrun.com/ |

Y’all rode on my side of town and I was working on my boatlift. Ironically I had to go to Lake Lewisville to pick up the new tanks. Sounds like y’all rode Hwy 4? I finally got hold of someone at BRAG. They said due to confidentiality they can’t give out names and addresses. They also told me a dealer must sponsor a local BRAG club. I did a dealer search and noticed that all the HD dealers that sell Buells are on the outskirts of the metroplex. Our best option may be to take advantage of this wonderful site. Considering the time and effort spent and the time of year, the results so far aren’t bad at all. At least 2 of us have had a good long ride. |

Well Chris, it looks like we won't be riding for a little while at least. It should give us some time to round everyone up for the next break in weather though. I'll also break out some more detailed maps of our area to see if I can find some more good roads. |

Dago, it’s hard to beat Hwy 4 but I know of other good roads south and west of the metroplex, but I’m not familiar with the roads north or east of the metroplex. Surprisingly the last 3 long rides I’ve been on have been around Kerrville. Maybe in spring we can arrange a DFW does Kerrville weekend. If possible wait till I can ride next time y’all come this way and I’ll work up a nice route. Does anyone in Dallas have access to a trailer? With the days so short, trailering a bike helps extend the length of your ride and reduces the gear you’ll need. |

I have a fully enclosed trailer that is currently setup for 3 bikes. But I think I can squeeze four in with a bit of work. I just need to buy another mount and move the other ones around a bit. I'll go anywhere for a ride. Kerrville is BEAUTIFUL country. |

Sorry for the confusion on which board we'd use - I was going for maximum exposure and double-posted for the attention. Now that we've got everyone's attention, here we'll stay - the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex Buellers board is officially open for business! My XB12S is in for the 1000 mile check-up, and a few warranty things - left-front turn signal loose; headlights aimed too high; and rear tire (I had the tire/wheel coverage added when I bought it, and I'm glad I did - this one flat will just about pay for the coverage!). The other thing they're looking at is the finish on the wheels. I hadn't noticed - and didn't have anything to compare it to - until Dago commented on how they "sparkled." Up close, that sparkle looks like the finish is "crazed," with tiny cracks under the clearcoat. Buell is looking at them now, but they're probably not going to do anything unless the finish peels or corrosion begins. I just felt I should bring it to their attention now, in case something else develops later. It doesn't look bad, just different. |

I'd love to Jrr, but it's going to be too cold and nasty out there for me. Good call on bringing up the wheel situation with the dealer, Chris. You're right, they don't look bad at all. I actually think I had a slight flashback while looking at them. I can't believe it's supposed to snow today! |

Chris, creating a new post was a great idea and successful. May want to do it again in 2 or 3 months. Just point them to the Storm Fronts. I have changed the E-Mail Notification section in my profile so I want miss any posts here. Kevin, what part of Arlington do you live in? |
