Rog, the wife & I are considering it right now. We have to attend a funeral in Twin lakes around 3-4 pm & would probably head out from there. Most likely going to cage it tho, not taking the bikes to the funeral. |

Holy 5hit were there ever a lot of bikes down there. Called Rog when we hit Lake cook & he had already left, we managed to score a parking spot about 4 blocks away. Never did get into Iggys tho to meet Yaffe or Mitchell. Wall to wall people & they had the entrance basically closed until someone left. At 1 point there was a group of about 60 biker boyz wannabes that were riding in a pack down the street. Put a few pics up in quick board area. |

At the last club meeting 9/9/04, we scheduled a club brunch run for Saturday, September 25. Briefly, the plan is to meet and leave College of DuPage at 10:00am, ride to Lake Geneva area for brunch and then ride Kettle Moraine area before returning home. Details are below. Everyone is welcome. However, only active (paid) windy city members (and guest) eat for free. Reservations are not required, although it would be helpful to post here if interested in order to get a general headcount. Here's the plan: 1. Meet at College of DuPage Parking Lot P (off Lambert Road) on Saturday, 9/25/04 before 10:00am. See http://www.cod.edu/Maps/Maps_Reg.htm for regional map. See http://www.cod.edu/Maps/Map_Loc.htm for local map. See http://www.cod.edu/Maps/CampMap2.gif for campus map showing location of Parking Lot P. 2. Depart at 10:00am !!!!!! Ride to Lake Geneva. Exact route to be determined. 3. Brunch in Lake Geneva area. I suggest the following casual, biker-friendly, good brunch place 10 minutes south of Lake Geneva. Other suggestions are welcome. We can play this one by ear. Crandalls 10441 II Route 47 Hebron, IL 60034 (815) 648-2609 See http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=NLAmn.p_0ToXf6jSI4gpWA3JY_MRBTd78w--&csz=HE BRON+IL+60034&country=us&cat= for map location. 4. After brunch, we can ride Rt 47 through Lake Geneva east shore on way to Kettle Moraine for some fun, scenic routes (to be provided). Hope to see you there. |

ROAD RACING - AMA Announces Reschedule Plans Posted By Paul Carruthers October 8-10 9/17/2004 The following release is from AMA Pro Racing... AMA Pro Racing announced today that the AMA Chevrolet Superbike Championship season finale scheduled to be held this weekend at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton, Va., and the AMA Supermoto Championship race also scheduled for this weekend at nearby South Boston Speedway in South Boston, have been rescheduled for the weekend of Oct. 9-10. Both events had been postponed due to complications surrounding the effects of Hurricane Ivan, a major storm tracking toward the region. According to the National Weather Service as of Friday, the area surrounding VIR is under both tornado and flood watch. “Given the magnitude of this storm and the expectation that it would severely impact the area, we made the decision on Tuesday to postpone these events,” said Kerry Graeber, AMA Pro Racing Vice President, Director of Communications. “Since then, AMA Pro Racing officials have been working with each event organizer to reschedule both races. Because of the championship implications, particularly in road racing, it’s important to hold these events if at all possible. If we had been unable to reschedule the event at VIR we were prepared to look at other tracks to hold the Superbike season finale. For the sake of fans who would like to attend both events, officials at South Boston Speedway felt strongly about tying the two events together and were able to make the necessary changes to enable the supermoto race to run on the same weekend.” Graeber pointed out that while the AMA Formula Xtreme Championship has already been determined; the championships for Superbike, Supersport and Superstock are still undecided. The AMA Chevrolet Superbike Championship event at VIR will be held on Oct. 9-10. An updated event schedule is forthcoming. The AMA Supermoto Championship event at South Boston Speedway will be held on Oct. 9. VIR management indicated that all previously purchased tickets will be honored. Tickets will be available from ticket outlets and at the gate. A list of ticket outlets is available online at www.virclub.com, and purchases from ticket outlets will be at the advance-ticket discount. For more information on the Suzuki Lightning Nationals, call the track toll free at (888) 722-3099, ext. 112. South Boston Speedway also confirmed that previously purchased tickets will be honored. Tickets for the rescheduled event are available at www.tickets.com. For additional information call (877) 440-1540. |

For Paladin... A man goes into a bar on a sunday to watch the Bears game & he brings his dog with him. The bartender tells him "you cant bring a dog in here" and the man replies "but my dog is a huge huge Bear fan & just wants to watch the game, he wont cause any trouble I promise. If he gives you or any customers a problem you can toss us both out". The bartender relents & tells the guy if there is any problems with the dog they both are out. The man puts the dog up on a barstool & the dog is staring at the tv apparently watching the game. Just before halftime the Bears score a field goal & the dog jumps off the stool & runs around the stool 3 times clockwise then turns around & runs around it 3 times the other way than stands on his hind legs & throws his paws in the air. The bartender is amazed & tells the man its incredible & he's never seen anything like that. Then he asks the man "if he gets that excited over a field goal whats he do when they score a touchdown?" The man replies "I dont know, I have only had the dog 3 years". |

Max, Too bad you didn't post earlier. Went right through Hoffman Estates Sunday morning on way out to meet Steve (S2) in Elgin. We then had a nice ride in the Sycamore/Hampshire/Burlington area. Would have been a great way to put some miles on that new bike! |

Brent, I never heard of Wasco (Illinois) before, but now see from mapquest that it is on Rt 64 east of Sycamore. Is that close to Bob's Cycle Shack (or something like that) located on Rt 64? We hit McGough (???) road around there for a string of fun fast left-right sweepers through the corn fields. We also stopped to eat outside at the Chicken Basket drive-in. The smell was too good to pass by. You'll have to tell us where the good hidden roads are around there. |
