Well, I rode the dragon 3 times yesterday. Nobody out there in the off season. Just us, an FJR, and a little sports car. Today we kicked back on Myrtle beach. Tonight we are just outside of Savannah, heading to Pensacola tomorrow. How's things with you? Is the KTM running yet? |

Good. No. No time to dig into it. Sucks. May just take it in because not riding it sucks ass. |

B.R.A.N. Question ... I'm possibly in need of a place to hang my hat for a night as well as change some oil in NM... Preferably near I10 or maybe I40. Are there any Buellers able to provide assistance? It's likely that I can bring tools/oil/filter and all that but the whole bed bug epidemic has me afraid to use a hotel anywhere near an inter-state highway . I'm not sure exactly when but it would likely be later this month. Probably not too close to Christmas but that depends on plane ticket prices. If I can't get a good deal so close to Christmas it may be early January. |

Nice ride this weekend, rode up through the Jemez, valles Caldera, Los Alamos for lunch, and back down 14 to town. Lots of snow and ice still up between Caldera and Bandoleer Mnt.

Never mind Valentines Day... Assuming that's your new ride Bartimus, how do you like the R1200RS? It's on my short list...perhaps my next bike. |

I like it a lot, the quality is impressive. The stock seat sucks, like most bikes, windscreen adjustments are ok. Handling is very good, if I were to do it again, I would get the standard suspension and upgrade to ohlins. The ESA is ok, but can't be fine tuned to my liking. Power is great, from idle all the way to redline, good stump pulling power, and the fueling is spot on. All in all, a big improvement over the Ninja. And CJ, Chris was with me that day and enjoyed the Valentine's Day ride 😉 |

Bartimus - thanks for the info. I haven't taken one for a ride yet. All the ones I've seen come loaded with the active suspension. It's supposed to make split second adjustments based on engineering and riding tests preferences. etc. I suspect its soft like my K-bike which is also never quite right but always acceptable. I was told by a German BMW salesman...BMW expects you to adjust to the bike and just trust it... Good to know everything else is good with the bike... N |

I went on a "spirited" ride up north two weekends ago, alone. First time I really got a chance to push the bike and test it's limits. heading up 14 it did feel a bit soft in the rough stuff but by the time I got to Mora, and headed up to Angel Fire, it felt real good, and I pushed it hard up that sweet little road. Coming back down, I continued pushing, and the bike really hung in there. I was thinking that maybe the ESA had some learning abilities if pushed, because it did seem to stiffen up as the day wore on. Either that, of I got used to it. It was a very good ride. |

Yeah... I'm still here. Just rarely check in anymore. I've been pretty busy with work and have had few opportunities to ride in the last several weeks. I took some time to travel and visit my parents in March, so that took up a lot of my opportunities. I rode on Friday with Trevor for a weird local ride. Saturday, I got the rain gear on and rode out to PJ's to test Ducatis. They were grounded due to the wet conditions. I went and met the wife for lunch then headed to Thunderbird for their demo rides. There were some dry conditions then and I got to ride four different models. Should have some Mondays available for rides coming up. |

So, I got an email from Dave Kaminen, as I'm sure many of you did. They are doing a Buell ride to Taos the weekend of June 11th. See below: "Hello All, Some things have come up and we need to change the Taos NM ride dates,,, We need to bump them up w week to June 10-11-12. I just spoke with a nice lady Briana, at the Sagebrush Inn in Taos, Plenty of rooms available, 8 ( of the lower priced rooms ) in the main complex, 14 in the Comfort Suites next door. Your individual tastes my vary, but I like the cool old rooms the best, Their # 1-800-428-3626 Let us know if you`d like to come join us, sounds like 5 so far, maybe more ?? We can make plans a little closer to the ride, but Bob and I were thinking about Chama/Hwy 64 on the way into Taos,, That route is an absolute blast, and the scenery is hard to beat as well,, I`m sure we can get creative for the sat ride and the route home too,, Let us know,, Thanks and Ride Safe, Dave" By coincidence, I'm also going to be in Taos on June 11th for an event at Taos Mesa Brewing Co. It's a fundraiser for the Freedom in Music Project and Santa Fe Harley is going to have a ride to the event and I think bring the Jumpstart with a couple of bikes. There will be many blues bands playing all day. There is a ride coming in from Texas with a blues guy named Ben Nichols (who seems to be pretty famous in those circles) as well as Oliver Peck of Ink Masters tv show. They will be at the event all day and will play. Anyway, seems like a good excuse to dust off your Buell and head up to Taos. Let me know if any of you are coming up. |
