I dont have a bike to ride to the vortex, Mine is still in pieces from my exhaust experiment and even if i put it back together my rear tire is BALD! Speaking of, I have not rode my bike yet but I cut open the muffler and removed all the packing material from it, I fired it up last night and it did not seem much louder, then again my only coparison was an open header from the night before.
Regarding Sportbike Day, I have heard it has been postponed, if this has happened how are we going to undo all of the work we have done? What about vendors, all the fliers I spent a week distributing to break rooms, the tool trucks and so on, who is going to be at the dealer to tell all the people we cannot contact, sorry no show? A4TR, B_S, Fran-Dog, and I talked a little about still hosting the event and adding donation cans for Mike and Pete. Thoughts? I had planned on going to SMHD/B tonight to talk with Cameron and get his thoughts as well. I have got to run, duty calls. |

Glitch....I agree. We NEED to get together. It would make us all feel better. Things have been weird on the 3% board. I think everyone has been a little gun shy. I have been scared to post. Some normalsy would be nice. I will try and make it with my load at work. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Would we be meeting anywhere?

I spoke briefly to Cameron this Morning when he called and told him that we would still like to hold the event and take donations for Michael and Pete and that it is a great opportunity to do so. He said he would discuss it with the powers that be and get back with us.
Glitch and I are going to meet at SMHD between 6 and 6:30 tomorrow.
NewR12- You could ride my Blast, it doesn't do so hot 2-up but it'll get you there on a bike.
or Drive the truck, you don't need a motorcycle to go to the Tex. |

Glad everyone made it back home from the recovery mission. My thoughts are with you Pete and Mike, I hope yall recover quickly.

I wish I could meet everyone at the vortex but my bike is still acting crazy I hope one of these days someone figures out what is wrong.
Black sunshine, now you see where the inspiration for my bike came from that is the bike I was telling you about that time at the Vortex. |

Ya'll have no idea how this has taken it's toll on me, nor I you.
I rode up to NC for two reasons, one, it's a guy thing I guess, the other, I had to prove to myself I was going to be OK.
After a few hours on the road I found out about Pete. No choice, I had to ride.
Although I didn't ride at all once I got there, it was what I needed. Riding is for me a way to clear my head. Needless to say no ammount of riding could clear my head of this, it has affected in one way or another everyone around me.
I have ridden to work evry day since, but no recreational riding, it just ain't the same yet.
I think I've got my mind around what has happened and what I need to do.
SO, let's start by going to the Vortex.
If SMHD wants to call it off so be it. It's in their hands to advertise how they see fit to call it off. If that is the way it's going to be, I don't have what it takes to fight it just now.
B_S, that's kinda what I have in mind for my bike only I'm gonna keep the tail. Maybe I'll be able to talk someone in to giving it the carbon fiber treatment  hint hint.
SilverMullet, looks awesome! Hope the wife and baby Bueller are well.
Gov. Sorry to hear you're not up and running. Bring it to SMHD.

I'm serious about my offer. I still have insurance on it and it probably could
use the attention.
as a matter a fact both my bikes could use some attention.
But I think I had better get some sleep
before I give either of them any 'attention'.

Nuthin that fancy.
Just pulled them off.
Any glue left over was removed using Dubya Dee 4T. |

The only thing you might break is the reflector.
They're only held on with two faced tape.

Mike's doin' OK.
They'll let 'im go hopefully at the end of the week. Looks as though he came close to pneumonia, so he has breathing treatments for now. The doc said he should have never been released from NC.
Pete's back in Atlanta. He's at Shepherds. Still in ICU at the moment.
As soon as he can/feels like it we'll go see him. I can't wait, the phone just don't get it.
Got some excellent news from Cameron tonight. Announcement soon so stay tuned.

I talked to Cameron today about a couple things,
First, Thursday October 7th, The Vortex, all must attend, this will be a benifit for Pete and his family. From what they tell me there will be an auction of many things, including the girls of the Vortex for your nasty jobs at home etc... All proceeds will go to Pete and family. I will try with all my might to be there! I will be finishing a 12hour trip and stopping in at the Tex.
Next, we should know tomorrow about the sportbike apreciation day, Cameron is talking to SMHD/B to see if we can proceed, I let him know about all the work we have done and asked how to undo it. He said and we agreed it would be a great place to raise money for Mike and Pete. So as all of this info comes in I will post and let everyone know.
A4TR, I have reconsidered your offer and I think I should go. I have always wanted to ride a thumper to see what they were like, I have to escape just a little before I go off. I will have Sam call you with details. I was a little grumpy tonight sorry you had to hear it.
Well I do believe my bike is absolutely no louder than when I started my whole "I'm gonna cut my muffler to pieces and make it louder" project but I do believe I got more umph out of her. Went for a round the block romp and discovered a free breathing Buell is waaaayyyy better. Front tire was lifting as the revvs increased in first on a very small incline, rode many times before and never had the tire come up. I should not have even rode due to back tire conditions but I have not rode since Saturday and I needed a release.

Thanks Glitch I think I may do it.The only thing I'll do is paint the rear Tail light assembly the same grey as the frame and the under tray I'll keep black. |

A4TR is still going to be at the dealership to meet with anyone that's going to meet at the dealership so if you're going to the dealership don't change your plans to meet at the dealership just because Stealth and myself won't be at the dealership.
