ATK, Michael's is in the parking lot of a shopping center off of 15-501 just South of Chapel hill. If you're going to ride out there be sure to let us know. I *might* meet some friends out there tomorrow morning (2/8/04). Mike |

Hey John, I don't think there's plans for anyone else to meet in Apex, but I'll be leaving there between 9:30 and 10. If you want to get together for the ride to Michael's let me know. Otherwise I'll be at Michael's around 10:30 or so. Mike |

James, I'm with Alpha insurance, I got it through the dealer when I bought my XB. Rumor has it that Progressive will be offering full coverage for motorcycles in NC sometime around April. Mike L. '04 XB12R |

James, Check around, Things have gotten a little out of hand with getting insurance here in NC as of lately. Alpha insurance won't insure any Buells for me because I'm under the age of 30. Some don't even have Buells listed. Eric |

I go through GMAC...with a tainted driving record and the bare minimum, it costs me about 160+- a year. Rates can be pretty high here in Fayetteville. |

Is that for full coverage? they already have PL/PD here... I called and the people at progressive I talked to had no idea, had not heard anything about that... but they did say we would probably know before they did, because they are kept in the dark about everything... |

Hrmmmmm... I accidentally hit 110 on I40 today @ 5:00 in RTP. How the hell did that happen? I twist back to pass a semi, and look down and about fell out th' boat. Sheeeet. I didn't think it would do it that easily with the saddlebags on... |

Pang, Hang in there, I'm sure we'll get some rides going soon. In the mean time, there's always Michael's. On a postive note- one of our techs at Ray Price (Lee Beasley) just got back from the XB training and is now really fired up about Buells. The first thing he told me when he got back was that he was going to buy a black 12R. Mike L. |

Gramps, I'm up for Michael's, but I will have to check with the new wife. She did let me put the top down in the Miata today, so it seems like I'm still allowed to have fun. Of course, I've only been married for 12 days, so I don't know what to expect. Today I got Lee (our Buell tech) to fiddle with my XB. He checked the timing and found it to be off quite a bit, so he set that and reset the TPS and AFV. I only had a chance to ride the bike about 10 miles since then but it feels much better. I'll have to take it out tomorrow (day off) and flogg it a bit to see how it runs. Hopefully the race ECM won't de-tune itself this time. Hey- a BIG THUMBS UP to Sheltons Harley Buell in Durham NC!!! One, they actually carry in stock brake pads for most Buells. Something big ol' Ray Price doesn't. "uhh...I can have it in a week..." Two, I learned they are open on Sundays, so I can actaully do stuff on the weekends... And third, the parts guy treated me like I was important to him, and the woman at the register even stayed after a few minutes to wait on me when I couldn't find the place before they closed...Thanks all! I think I have found my new dealer!!! As for Ray Price, no offense to Mike, because he isn't a culprit, nor at fault, but jeez...how can a dealer not carry brake pads??? No wonder a simple servicing takes two+ weeks... They pretty much carry nothing Buell anymore, and most ppl will sooner spit on you than try to talk Buell. At this point, I'd almost (I said almost) like to see them scrap the Buell name and replace it with Hardley, just so I can buy parts and accessories when I feel the urge. I mean jeez...if you walk into a Chevy dealership, sure they'd rather sell you a 'vette, but they still take care of the people who buy the Cavaliers... edited by pangalactic on June 16, 2004 |

No offense taken- we suck. We don't have a single salesperson on the floor who can even name all the Buell models and we're baffled when the bikes don't sell. We won't stock Buell t-shirts, parts, accessories, or even stickers, and then we're surprised that we rarely have any Buell traffic in the store. I wish there was something I could do about it, but no one cares what a parts guy has to say. I came to work here for the Buells, now it's just a job. Pretty soon Shelton's may become my new dealer. Got out to the Kerry Edwards rally at NC State today. Kerry rides a Harley- hence the Buell content link is made. Way more people than anyone expected showed up. I don't think I have ever seen that many people in such a small area. Organizers expected 5-10,000 people to show- the fire marshall said there were over 25,000 through the gates when they closed 'em. There were still more people listening outside the gates. Wow! edited by pangalactic on July 10, 2004 |

I'm gonna be heading that way, JVille, in December. I'm gonna be pulling the bike out there. Wife asked me, "Honey, do you want to stop in Asheville so you can ride your bike in the Mountains?" Damn ain't she sweet. Of course my response was, " I'd LOVE TO, but I might have a little problem with the really COLD weather, possibility of snow and ice on the roads." Wife: "I almost forgot that other parts of the country actually have weather. I guess we had better pack some warm clothes as well." Three years of living in this desert has got to her. Know anything about New River Harley Davidson/Buell? I'm gonna have to find me a good reliable dealer. Spike, may have to use you. |

Spike! Its great to find you here. Finally another Buell owner in Raleigh. I know I'm not the only one, but I so rarely see another Buell that it feels like I am. I see your headed to the BRAG ride in Boone. I'll be there too. |

Man, 6 posts in one month! The NC section is finally starting to come alive! New River HD is brand new. I stopped by there in July to check it out and I think they had only been open for about a month at the time. I haven't heard anything about them yet, but the building looks nice. I was planning on heading to the BRAG ride this month, but unfortunately I'm unable to get the time off. We should all get together for a ride sometime, even if it's just to Michael's for breakfast. I'm planning on riding up to the races at VIR on the 19th with another Buell ridin' Ray Price employee. Anyone else is welcome to come along. Mike L. '04 XB12R |
