Kirk, thanks for running the meeting last week and getting out information to everyone. It's really appreciated. Welcome Bob (xb12r) and Bob (xb9r)! It great to have new blood and rides in the club. Thanks for the interest, and look forward to your participation. Is the end near for us tubers??? (hell, mine is already gone). Big Karl and I were tentatively planning a weekend trip for 21-22 August, but are now interested in Peoria races that weekend. Karl also knows some decent (non-superslab) routes. I will be contacting Desmo (aka Erlin) to see about riding and/or meeting for the races. I will post further info here after we talk in case there are others that may be interested in all or part of the plans. |

FYI, The date that I had on the calendar at WindyCityBrag.com for Speedy's next race at Blackhawk was in error. It showed the races as being on the same weekend as Peoria when in actuality it is the next weekend Aug28-29. I've corrected that on the website and will try not to let it happen again, I think Bomber was the one who gave me the erroneous info. Sam Scolastico Illinois H-D/Buell 1301 S. Just want to make a correction on the meeting place for the Peoria TT Aug 22. The name of the truckstop is called R-Place not RJ's, sorry. It is located in the north east corner of I-80 and RT-47. Hope to see you there, Erlin erlin3@aol.com |

Also see http://www.1800flattrack.com/article.php?UID=Y8lP5WBfUpiko6nnMSXjqZR2e1Jbfo&aid= 523 for additional info. Ride time from Chicago metro (south) via superslab is 2 hr 33 min. See http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&countryid=US&addtohistory=&searc htab=address&searchtype=address&address=&city=peoria&state=il&zipcode=&search=++ Search++ for more details. I think most people who have expressed an interest on this post plan on riding there and back on Sunday. That works for me. Is anyone planning on arriving Saturday? Regarding route, I would hate to do super-slab both ways if it could be avoided. Perhaps super-slab there, then meander back on some nice/fun roads (or visavis). What are your thoughts (be nice, now}? |

Another group is riding to Peoria this Sunday, Aug 22 for the TT races. Tickets are $20 at the gate. If you are interested, show up and/or call my mobile (708) 373-5445 for more info. We may tag up with Coolice and his group in Oglesby at 9:00am (see posts above for details) if the timing works out, otherwise we'll run independently according to the following itinerary: 1. Meet at I-80 & RT-47 (Morris) at 8:00am on Sunday, Aug 22. Name of truck stop is R-PLACE, located on NE corner. We will likely eat breakfast here. 2. Take RT-6 (or likely backroads along south side of river) west to Ottawa. 3. Take RT-71 southwest to RT-26 in Hennepin. 4. South on RT-26 to Peoria along EAST side of Illinois River. Roads along #2 above will be fast sweepers and some twisties. Roads along #3 above will be fun as we twist through Starved Rock area. Road along #4 will be scenic, easy going sweepers. The return trip will be played by ear. Current weather forecast for Sunday, Aug 22 is 82 high/59 low, sunny, 20% change of precipitation (early AM only). Look'n good. Hope to see you there. |

I was wondering how you guys would feel about rescheduling next weeks meeting? I'm thinking of taking an extended weekend for the holiday and would like to take next Thurs. and Fri off. We could do it this week or the week after next (9-9)? Let me know if we can work something out. Thanks, Sam Sam Scolastico Illinois H-D/Buell 1301 S.
