Getting really psyched about this weekend, looking forward to meeting new Buellers as well as old friends. Looks like a cool weekend weather wise, highs mid 50s. See you Friday! |

At the Tal-wi-wi, what a nice place. Time to get some grub then hit the trails. Sorry Bart, your rain lost out to the sunshine over here. |

The weather forecast still looks sketchy If I recall, the first SpringFast saw hail, and rain on the last day... Hey Jody, don't forget the key to your bike this year!!! |

1-3" Snow maybe on Sat. morning. I brought my snow chains.
Pretty amazing ride to Morenci, with a side trip to Big Lake. Over 200mi. with at least 75% of continuous curves. Sensory overload for this Midwesterner. |

What a great week. 2,900mi. of driving, 500mi. of riding, on & off-road, and the only thing broken was a leaf spring on my trailer. Luckily it didn't happen until 10mi. from home. Thanks Bart, it was great meeting all your group. Just wished I could have ridden with you guys some |

Awesome ride, amazing friends, I had a great time! 854 miles in three days, still have some tread left on my front tire. Those 9 on us that braved the cold/snow on Saturday for the 191 ride had an awesome time. The rest of you guys really missed out, to come all that way and not ride the Alpine to Morenci route, too bad. See you all next year! |

Art, I rode 191 on Thursday since the weather was much nicer. I do regret not riding with you guys again on Sat, even with the snow & fog, just to watch you guys shred those curves. Next time you all set up a ride I'll drag BluzM2 along, even if he is kicking and screaming. |

The first thing that I had to do when I got home was to replace a broken leaf spring on my trailer. Luckily, it didn't break until just 10mi. from home. On Sat, after breakfast, while the main group rode down Hwy 191 I wanted to do the new road to Big Lake then drop down into Eagar Valley. I ended up being the only one who wanted to go that route. A little snow on the road this morning
At the Eagar Valley overlook
Someone even made a snowman
And there always has to be a gratuitous bike shot
When I got back to Tal-wi-wi I went out for a ride on the DR650. There are tons of great roads and trails around the area. Probably due to all the hunting that goes on. It's a shame all the fire damage caused by a couple of careless campers four years ago.
Our last day group shot. Missed a few though.
We all meet for 'The Last Breakfast' before we split up and head home
I want to thank everyone who was involved in organizing the ride. The Tal-wi-wi Lodge was a great place to have the ride. Even with the cool and snow we had a ball. |

Art, Sorry, here's my "lame" excuse. I was sad not to be able to go but my stay home was worth it.

Mike, great pictures! Sorry nobody wanted to ride with you on Saturday. I have to admit this "new" crop of riders just can't hang like us "old timers". (Dang I sound old) I'm going to have to make a special trip, and like you, bring both bikes. So much to see and do in that area. If I recall, the Rodeo/Chedisky fire was started by an unemployed volunteer fireman on the salt river indian reservation that just wanted to earn a few $$$. That fire spread from the reservation, to Payson, Heber, Showlow, Springerville, Alpine, and even went into New Mexico. Seeing the devastation, and how close it came to the towns, tells the story of just how hard the firemen worked to save those towns. Brad, That's an acceptable excuse, even if he was a sailor looking forward to seeing you at the S2 rally. I hope you can make that one... |

I looked it up on Wiki to find the date and it said two campers started it. If it's on the internet, it must be right. I will try to come back out next year. |

we are both right, to a certain extent. an "arsonist" started the Rodeo fire, and a lost camper started the Chediski fire when her signal fire got out of control... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodeo%E2%80%93Chedisk i_Fire http://www.azcentral.com/news/20120617chediski-fir e-civil-action-court yea, everything on the internet is true! It would be great to see you again next year. I would follow your lead, and bring both bikes with me |
