We went Sunday was decent. talked with the Zero bike guys a bit. seems they have an engineer from Buell. I can see the Buell influence in the frames. Nice bikes if u want an expensive commuter. Got some pics of vintage shovels. Saw some cute girls :-) loved the vintage stuff. not much else. | ||

Abe was from Buell. One of their lead designers. He came to one of our ASBN meetings in California and did a presentation. He then invited us to the factory to tour and take a demo ride in the California mountains. nice guy... | ||

My race report for AMRA round 5, the San Manuel Copper Classic. I race the 30+ Expert class on a KTM 450 xc-f Drove out Friday after work and found a spot for the camper. Woke up Saturday to rain!!! Was so happy to see that after a month-plus of dry weather. Race started at noon and I got a decent start, 3rd to the first turn and quickly moved into 2nd behind Daniel Schoon. Tried a pass on a fast outside right hander and went off course letting Ben Hutchinson by. Then I dumped it in a sandy right hander and dropped back to 6-7th. Was able to get going and calm down. I rode hard and went by everyone in my class and put myself into 1st place. At this point I had a gap and I was super arm pumped so I backed it down and tried to relax my grip a bit... Next thing I know Ben is on my tail and blows past me when I miss a turn after the cattle guard. (Bad marking is my excuse...) I was able to latch onto Ben's back tire and it actually helped me get into a better rhythm and ride smoother. We were picking our way thru the rides in front of us and I was trying to pass smart and not let anyone hold me up. Was able to get back by Ben mid lap 2 and hold strong in lap 3 to take the W. Also finished 7th overall with the AA pro's! Also did the night race and rode my buddy Crash's bike with his new Rigid LED light set up... Pretty impressive light system they have. Our 3 man team finished 3rd in the Expert class. | ||

Had an awesome superbowl sunday! Mt. Lemmon ride with CJ on our buells, cold and snow on the road the last mile, thanks for lunch CJ. Steaks on the grill at halftime. Cigar and beer afterwords. Great game by the Seahawks, dominated every area of the game and exploited every mistake! | ||

Neat Cafe Racer night last night. We ate at the Joyride tacos on central....super tacos. Ran into a Bueller, riding an X1. I told him about ASBN. He was not really aware of Badweb or ASBN. Cafe Run on Sunday morning, Feb. 16th. 8 am till 9:30 at the Grotto in Cave Creek. Coffee run. they do a nice light breakfast too. Several of the Cafe Racer guys will be there for coffee. Destination ride. Meet there around 8 am. Don't go overly fast......they are strict on speed and sound in cave creek.....maybe see you there. REX | ||

Good ride this morning to the Grotto cafe in Cave Creek. Starts early, dark, and cold, but is nice once there, and leaving. Good coffee, great cafe, and neat atmosphere.....Nice chairs.... |
