What about security? My bike won't be on the trailer and I have no lock... If he doesn't find something with definite security I may just ride over to Al's place and kick it there. I told him he has to let me buy him dinner at the least though. | ||

I just bought the 5 1/2 foot chain & lock from Metro Motorsports for $100. Best they had. You can use it or we will run it through 2 or 3 tires. I have other chains, cables, disk lock, etc. Escondido looks just like any suburb of Phx from the maps. I'll book there or San Marcos probably tonight after I check some more maps or aerial photos. As of now we are leaving early Sat and returning early Mon. May go I8 or I10, not much diff to me. Ride Sat PM and Sun AM. | ||

Man, called Chosa's today and asked them if they had the Pro Series Air Cleaner in stock, NO, on backorder, don't know when it will be in. Asked them about ordering one for me, said I had to come in the store since I haven't ordered anything with them before, down here in Yuma, still have to come in the store. So, I ask them about the frame pucks, not in stock, same thing as the filter. DAMN. I have this damned gift card from them and they don't have any Buell stuff in stock that I want. Told them I'd be in town Sept 8 to pick it up and they won't do it unless someone came in there in person. DAMNIT. (Message edited by Southernmarine on August 25, 2004) | ||

Here's a shocker for you... I'm driving down the freeway and some punk kid in a new Honda Prelude opens up on me with an automatic pellet gun!  I was in my 75' truck. Many of the pellets struck my truck and one came through the window and hit me in the face... I can't believe the total disregard these guys showed. I could have been some poor old lady that drove off the road and died thanks to them! It hurt like hell but I'm just glad it wasn't a real gun! They pulled away doing about 100 or more mph and my beast wouldn't keep up. Made me wish I had my gun on me, they would have gotten real bullets back! I usually always carry it too. They were lucky... My wife just called. Her bike is sitting in front of her work with a flat. If it can't be repaired, looks like she'll be getting my new Diablos, Bitch!  Hope they get it done tonight or first thing tomorrow morning! I don't want to cross the desert in the heat of the day again! | ||

I made it!! Had a GREAT time. Great roads to say the least. Perfectly suited to the Buell design philosophy . Bumpy assed twisty dirty roads... The back roads of America. I haven't had so much fun in years. Very technical stuff and an absolute BLAST at speed. I'm wondering if the lady in the white explorer that I HIT with my back tire had a coronary ? I came around a 90* right hander that was VERY blind and slid my back tire into hers... It was excellent. I looked up at her just as I about slid under her and all I saw was a look of horror as she raised her hands to cover her face. Bill, Jim - Lemme know how you fared... I made it home just fine and I don't think I lost even another drop from my primary... It must have just been the beating I was giving her through the twisties . |
