4 weeks 'til Buells in the Alps III. See thread here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/ 705052.html?1370485193 I changed my front tire and replaced a weeping fork seal yesterday. Looking forward to riding some (hopefully dry!) twisties. |

Nearly lost my Drummer last week. The forward mount bolt came out and then the back two clamps broke off never to be found. Get it home safe but sounding rather sick. Ordered new parts in anticipation of riding up to Little Switzerland this weekend. Parts should be here Monday... wait there is more. The last time I rode up there my rear brake switch broke and leaked brake fluid all over the place. Not good in the mountains. So, in giving the bike a good preflight I found the drive belt cracked and ready to give up the ghost. More parts ordered. Crap, I haven't even left yet and I'm out 500 bucks. "Out" being a relative term. I would have eventually had to drop the coins. Better at home than on the road, I guess. With that said, how about a roll call of those attending? |

Tail, check your header studs, it is hard to imagine that much exhaust mounting system compromise without one or more broken header studs. |

Reepicheep, ordered new studs with the rest of the needed hardware. Just in case. Thanks! (Message edited by Tailspining on July 22, 2013) |

Double posting this (also in the BITA III thread) so nobody misses it. So everybody knows where to meet: I figure we'll eat supper at the Skyline Village Inn restaurant Friday night about 6 PM. They have a nice deck outside (provided the weather holds) with a great view off the mountain. We'll probably hang out there for a good while so if you're a little late it won't be a problem. If you don't make up until Saturday, let's eat lunch in Little Switzerland at the Switzerland Cafe and General Store. They have a pretty big seating area upstairs; we ate there at the first BITA meet and that was a pretty good location. Saturday night, we can either eat at the hotel again, there's the Mountain View Restaurant just across 226A from the hotel (pretty much within walking distance), or eat at the Pizza Shop and Dry County Brewing Company in Spruce Pine (we ate there one night last year and it was great). |

Thursday, while heading home on I-26 in Charleston, I saw a man riding a red XB-S. Couldn't tell if it was a 9 or 12. Anyway, he was riding sitting up-right, with his feet on the passenger pegs. I have never seen someone look so stupid on a bike. I couldn't help but laugh. He looked like he was trying to mix yoga with riding. On another note: My 1125 is officially for sale. The Citadel is a expensive joint, and I have nothing else left to sell. Its in the classifieds section if anybody is interested. |

Hugh, were you riding with a Ducati Monster yesterday (Sat 27 July) around 5:30 pm just off of the Blue Ridge Parkway at the Visitor Center heading into Cherokee? |

Rob, what were you going to be studying at The Citadel again? If you need any help getting around there just ask me. I'm starting my Junior year there in Engineering. |

Im transferring from Trident Tech to the Citadel as part of the 2+2 program studying Electrical Engineering. I have 13 hours this next semester, plus my full time job. Im pretty familiar with the Citadel since by little brother is a cadet there. But I don't mind study groups! PM me if you might be taking the same classes as me |

Hi Andy- welcome to the group. I'm also in Summerville. You just missed our yearly gathering last month in Little Switzerland, NC. We have had a few gatherings at different times of the year but it's kind of hard to pull off with so few Buells spread out across the state. We've picked up a few new folks in the last couple of months, so maybe we can generate some interest in another gathering before the year's up. |

I'll bet that was a beautiful trip! I'd be up for something like that, especially in cooler weather. |

Anybody still alive out there? Who's gonna be the first to get an 1190RX? In case you're interested, Bellisimoto in Greenville (http://www.bellissimoto.com/) is officially an Erik Buell Racing dealer. Oh yea, that X1 in the link above is still for sale if anyone's interested (no affiliation). |

We all expect to see YOU with the 1190 next summer!!! HA! 146 HP was too much for me; I can't imagine what I'd do with 185 HP. Of course, having traction control would help keep it under control. Hmm... |

You would be fun to WATCH at Little Switzerland. We could start a pool. |

Those tar snakes on 226A would give the traction control a SERIOUS workout. I sure hope they have that road re-paved by next summer. |

Some folks still do or ride regularly. I am not much help though. Too much on my plate to do much joy riding, plus I am in Columbia. This place has been pretty dead lately. Sorry no one got back to you sooner. |
