Took a good look at the Latus. Might just have found (finally) the muffler. I don't know if this is a JEGS part number or Eldelbrock,s. Here is the JEGS page I found it on. Does this help? The lady then proceeded to yell at me, I yelled at her that she was the one that almost killed and what the hell was her problem, of course I flipped her off and pulled in front of her with Michael. Well that wasn't good enough for her I guess. She started driving erratic, cut cars off and got in front of us and was just being crazy. She then pulled in the left lane and Michael tried to get her tag number, good thing he was about 3 car lengths behind her cuz she slammed on her brake at 60mph. (umm that is what the guy did on 985 that killed that other guy in that road rage incident) She turned at some street and Michael followed her to try to get her tag, he wouldn't get very close cuz of what she had already done and I pulled over to call 911. Well she drove right back by me while I was on the phone and I gave the cops a description of the car and tag number and her direction. I told them that Michael was behind her. Well I guess at the next light she got out of her car and started screaming at Michael. He told her she had better calm down and something about the cops, since he had seen me on my phone. She started begging him NOT to call the cops. Well I guess the cops showed up and she said her husband was 'in law enforcement' so the cop became a dick to Michael, telling him the only thing he would do was get them both for road rage and they could sort it out in court. Well I pulled up and as I got off my bike the cop told Michael 'Tell her to keep her mouth shut or you're going to jail'. I said 'But I have witnesses' to which he told me 'I don't care about talking to witnesses there are two options I charge both of them with road rage or you all walk away. While I was at the gas station one of the cars that saw the whole thing pulled in. She asked if I was OK and said she was scared to death that Michael and I were going to wreck when that woman ran us off the road. Michael even had another guy pull up and give him his info but the cop wasn't interested. The woman said that she was 'scared' and thought Michael was chasing her and following too close to which he replied, if I was following so close don't you think I would have run into you when you slammed on your brakes at 60mph. Doh the cop agreed but still wouldn't do anything. HE even asked the lady, 'if you were so scared how come you didn't call 911, 3 million people a day call for assistance'. Well she told the cop she thought Michael was trying to pull a gun out of his pocket??? Yeah whatever. So I am going to Walton County to file a formal complaint against the officer. I spoke to his superior yesterday and he agreed that the officer was out of line if he refused to talk to witnesses and wouldn't even listen to me when I was the complaintant. I'm not in Walton County very often so I don't really give a $hit about pissing off the cop. If it would have just been me that day I would have told him to arrest me cuz I didn't do anything wrong and that is the price I would have paid to have that woman in jail as well, then I would have filed a complaint against him late. Well I couldn't do that cuz Michael would have gotten arrested too so I kept my mouth shut. Even then the lady tried to approach me to 'talk' to me, Michael stepped in front of her and told her she had better leave me alone. Well his superior rides a Harley and was a lot more sympathetic to me when we spoke yesterday. My argument was how the hell are we supposed to road rage with a car on a 400lb bike??? His superior said that he has had issues with this officer before and that he can't address the issues of this incident with the officer unless and until I file a complaint. Got a much sharper picture of a Praying Mantus' face but while I was pushing buttons, erased the card. Rebecca, wow, that's one dramatic event we could all do without, go get 'em. Torqer, Mini and I were talking last night after work when the subject of tail came up (imagine that!), and remembered you wanting the Rizumo (sp?) one 'til you found out it was fiberglass, and mini was wanting to go back to stock, good timing huh?   Along4theride Posted on Friday, August 27, 2004 - 10:52 am:        that's one dramatic event we could all do without, go get 'em I'm not upset about it, I was. It was the worst thing I have experienced on my bike yet, I couldn't stop shaking. The worst part was when she slammed on her brakes in front of Michael at 60mph. Umm isn't that attempted vehicular homicide? What did she think would happen to him when she did that??? That is exactly what the guy did on 985 that DID kill that guy, in a car. With all the hype on the news about road rage it was totally irresponsible how the officer handled the situation. Maybe if I make him aware of the fact that he was wrong next time he'll handle it differently and it might just save a life. I went to the Sheriff's office in Walton County and talked to a really nice guy. I told him what transpired and he wants Michael to go in on Monday and give his side. The officer I spoke to wants the witness' names and they will be contacted. The Superior Officers will review the onboard cam from the jerk cop's vehicle and if they feel that there is enough evidence with the witnesses and our statements they will pursue charging the woman and possibly taking disciplinary action against the officer. The Officer was really appreciative that we spoke up and said that he wished more people would say something when they have a bad experience with a cop. I would like the woman to get in some kind of trouble because by letting her off was condoning her behavior. Maybe just maybe all this will save someone's life. Road Rage is a BIG problem and something that shouldn't be taken lightly especially Slamming on your brakes in front of someone doing 60mph on a motorcycle or not. Seems alot of cops and their wifes/kids/family think that they are above the law when it comes to doing stupid things on the road, blue shield I guess. Glad to hear nobody got hurt as things get way outta hand very quickly in situations like that. Best to just twist the wick and put some distance between yourself and the offensive butt monkey. The spark plug ball bearing thing is nice till they get really pissed and slam into you at the next light. When all else fails at trying to avoid the dumb axx's a couple of .45 hollow points to the head solves the problem but who wants to drop a mom for doing some stupid shixt that was stressed and having a bad day. Best to chill and look foward to the next cold after ride pint to unwind.
