I figured I'd go ahead and throw this one out there early. Dates are tentative. Hottest part of the year is a good time to head to the mountains. Meet central will be same location as the last two years, the Skyline Village Inn. Details on the hotel, roads, and nearby campgrounds can be found at the first post for last year's meet: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=37&post=2172500#POST2172500 I'll post up more info as the year proceeds. |

Hugh, count me in. Loved the murder mtn. run last year. The workplace is real slow this month, so I've finally started to tear down the Ascot. Hoping to have it back on the road by mid summer. |

Glad to hear it Twig. I just sent out an e-mail to our group. Hopefully by starting to talk about it early, people that are interested can plan and we'll get a good turnout this summer. For any of you that are on Face Book, I just created an "event" for the NC/SC Buell group, so hopefully that'll draw a few more people in. (Message edited by Hughlysses on February 09, 2013) |

I might be interested in this, just live in Knoxville TN, so fairly close. The ninja 250 rally last year was at Little Switzerland and we rode the Devils Whip (NC80) and it was a great road. |

Myself and a coworker (on an Aprilia Tuono) hope to make it out for at least a day ride while you are all there. We're Asheville/Hendersonville NC area, so will likely just come up for the day since its so close. Maybe we'll even pull in a couple more. We ride in this area several time per year, and 1 more time is always a good idea. |

I can't actually plan that far ahead right now, but I have penciled it in. I would surely like to make it. Hugh, if you want to draw a fairly round circle on a map with your mouse.....try to cut back on the strong coffee! |

Will definitely join this year. Since I am in Hendersonville too I might try and hook up with Arctic. Looking forward to seeing you again , Hugh! |

Hmmm- it'd be noiiice to bail on work for a couple of days, roll up there on the Beemer... As the days grow closer, I'll take a hard look at making it! Vern, holler at me and let me know what you're thinking... |

Brad- hope you can make it. There are some sweet roads in the area (starting right out the front door of the hotel). Hotel is really cool- a 1940's mom and pop place with an "interesting" history. The hotel has a restaurant and there are several others within ~5 miles. The hotel has a good craft beer store, and we found a new local brewery/pizza joint in nearby Spruce Pine last year. |

Less than three weeks. Still looking forward to it. I rode the xb up to the Fancy Gap area last weekend and met up with wifey at our favorite cabin rental on the BRP. Had a cookout and cold ones with Ferris and his sweet wife Denise. Sunday morning Jerry and me rode up to Tuggles Gap, then south on Rt.8 towards Stuart, then parted ways. Thanks FB, sure beats the 52S trip. Lucky for me I checked the bike over a week in advance. 12 lbs in the rear tire and found a nail. Wasted a Conti with less than 1000 miles. The front was about half worn. So, I found a new set of Pirelli's at the local Cycle Gear and had the bike ready in time. See you guys in a few, should be there Friday around 3 pm. Hugh, will you be there for the week? |

Twig- I'll be there Friday/Saturday/Sunday this year. Sequestration/government furloughs necessitate the cutback from last year. |

Word today that the dragon has had a rock slide again, 1 lane is closed. AND part of the BRP will be under construction as well. |

Then we'll be staying in the right place, provided 226 and 226A, and several other choice roads nearby are clear. |

1 week to go. A follow-up to Bosgarage57's post above, the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed a few miles south of where we're staying, from mile marker 375 to 355, just north of Mt. Mitchell. The road is split right down the centerline, and one lane of the road has dropped several inches over a distance of several hundred feet. (Info from video posted on Killboy's Facebook page.) The Dragon is still open but has one lane traffic through a portion (with traffic signals even), but it doesn't look too bad. (Info also from Killboy.) At any rate, some of the best roads in NC, right where we're staying, don't involve either of those problem areas! |

Lucas- I probably won't get there until Friday afternoon. As far as a discount, this is our third year and the folks that run the hotel are very friendly. Ask and they may knock a few $$ off. OTOH- they may be booked solid, so don't wait any longer to book a room! |

The event's not so big, it's just a small hotel and they're busy on the weekends. There are a few other hotels nearby: Big Lynn Lodge is the closest: http://www.biglynnlodge.com/ Switzerland Inn is kind of ritzy (and I'd guess expensive) but they do have a motorcycle-specific part called the Diamondback Lodge that's probably more reasonable: https://switzerlandinn.com/ Alpine Inn is another possibility: http://www.alpineinnnc.com/ Then there's Bear Den Campground a few miles up the Parkway: http://bear-den.com/index.html They have cabins which are fairly cheap if you can find some folks to share one. There are some major chain hotels down the mountain in Marion if all else fails. |

I'll be staying at Spruce Pine Motel, it is 6 miles away from HQ (Skyline Village Inn) It is not on the curvy little switzerland road, but a main road so I chose it if I'll be riding back to my room at night. Skyline had some availability for Fri night, but not saturday. It was $45 a night. Now I just hope all the rain stays away and Im excited to meet everyone! http://sprucepinemotel.tripod.com/index.html Do we have an itinerary of when to meet and such?
