CJ, if you start now you can make it to Tal WiWi just in time for Springfast. Which reminds me, if you can't make it then I have a spare bed available... pass the word on. As for taking some kind of work, I drove an assisted living van for a year for $9/hr. Pay was crap but gratification was good. I still make it by the facility and visit with the people once a week. Moral: might as well enjoy the temp job while waiting for the career job to come around. |

Yeah... I'm not going to make it to Tal-Wi-Wi. Things are ok, I guess. I'd be happier if I were earning a few bucks. |

I wouldn't worry... you are an educated guy with a fairly diverse background. You will find something sooner or later. Just keep at it. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. |

Yeah, I have to agree with you on that. Things do happen for a reason. It's not always apparent to us at the time, unfortunately. I'm sure I'll get something. |

Guys I have good news and bad. Good news is I'm going out of state to buy an 1125CR. Bad news is I cant get the bike and make it back in time for Springfast. More good news (this means theres a room with a king size bed available). I hope to see everyone in August if we have a S.W. Buell rally. |

Yep, Bart's bike is super clean and as we all know, well maintained. It'd be hard to find one cleaner, with mods and extras for cheaper. I looked it over while at MA. There's also 2 other CR's and 2 R's on CL in the Abq metro right now...just sayin Changed the brake fluid yesterday, not that it was feeling spongy or anything but it was getting old and needed it regardless of next weekend or not |

Hey Sparky... Were you by chance headed North on 550 on Sunday? I saw a red lightning between San Ysidro and Bernalillo Sunday around 11-ish. |

So, nobody ever said how Jodi wiped out. And the guy on the scooter. What's the story? |

CJ, first, it is Jody, no "i". You know the pullout on Hwy 78 south of Clifton? The one where a guy crashed and the outcome wasn't good. I was coming into to stop there and thought I had slowed down enough to turn on the gravel. I hadn't. Front end slid out and I fell over. No biggie, I had already scratched that pod before in a similar way so I will have to replace it. The scooter guy "Crash Can", as he has been dubbed, simply failed to make a turn and rode up an embankment till the scooter and himself flipped. Fortunately it was loose, soft sandy soil on the bank. He had a sore shoulder and small cut on his forehead but was otherwise ok. His scooter will need a lot of work. Prior to being called "Crash Can" we dubbed him "Gas Can" because he ran out of gas about 40 miles before Quemado. We had to buy him a little gas can and send it back to him. Another guy, Chris, broke the right foot peg on his XB12 when he kissed a guard rail. He never came off and rode all the way to the lookout where I had my mishap. He was able to use a passenger peg to replace the broken one and continue the journey. All in all it was a great warm up for the ride up 191! I had the best time ever riding up it. Wish you could have made it down. How is the job hunt going? |

Sorry, JodY! Sounds like an exciting weekend. Things here are just so so. No success on the job front. It's discouraging. I apply for stuff and don't even get a phone call. And the last two weeks there hasn't even been anything remotely along the lines of my experience. Too many places expect you to have experience in their industry and don't understand that similar experience in another industry is just as good. It's frustrating. |

Sounds like it was an eventful ride... full of mishaps and adventure! Maybe I can make it next year...I was wondering about the scooter myself, and didnt remember JodY's bike having any scratches on it last year. Those pods used to be cheaper, like $65 at American Sport Bike, but now they are up to like $108 ea. Sucks, One of mine is all scratched up from the track, but I havent replaced it because I have the fairing lowers that go over them and block them from view. CJ, Don't give up hope. Some things just take time. I finally got a response from an employer in Dallas yesterday to an application I submitted well over 3 months ago... Obviously there is no guarantee anything will come of it, but the point is, some companies just take longer to respond than others. Keep your head/ chin up and everything will work out. We are all pulling for you on this side. (Message edited by agfish18 on May 24, 2013) |

Bart, the Heights, I'll be there by 9 Jody, if those guardrails would stay outta my way it'd be ok with me. Picked up some Cycle Pirates 360 pegs so I hope I can keep them in one piece for at least one ride. |

Thanks for the invitation Bart, I had a blast! Definitely a fun route, almost as much fun as 191. We'll have to run it again soon. Who's the dork on the XB? |
